It can be anything to denies them freedom of movement in situations where they legally and safely can have freedom of movement.

So if one of their punishments was to lock the children in their rooms - that would explain it.

I am curious if they refused to let the 14yo go home after she admitted he had touched her at 9. If this discussion of what happened was at their home.

There are theories it is one of Kendra’s siblings.

No, the police have said these charges have nothing to do with the other molestation related charges and happened in a different state. These are separate charges that occurred in Arkansas and involved 4 minor children and both parents. These seem to have come to light during the investigation. Someone may have talked to their own kids to see if they were ever abused and in the course of those conversations it was disclosed they had been locked in their rooms - just speculation.

Maybe Kendra tried locking up the kids’ bedrooms so Joseph didn’t have access to them when they were sleeping. /S

Maybe Joseph didn't know he couldn't do that.

It could be something like that. What a weird situation.

I don’t get the false imprisonment charges. What could this be?

I think it is something along those lines. There were no child abuse charges and she bonded out for $1000 an hour after the arrest. It isn't a major situation.

Another Duggar son arrested for child sex abuse. Good grief. Did these idiots just raise a family of predators?

Well, the boys at least. It's what happens when boys / men are allowed to do whatever they want and girls / women are handmaidens to them.

They often blame the girls too. The whole over the top obsession with female modesty acts as though men are expected to be creeps who find a 9 year old wearing pants tempting. The whole posture puts shame on merely having a female body and no expectation for people not to be creeps.

It's this. It's also worth noting that Bill Gothard, the man who created the cult the Duggar's belong to, was also accused of grooming and raping many girls. A lot of his teachings also blame sex abuse victims for their own abuse. The enabling of men's sex abuse of girls and women is a feature of this cult, and not an accident.

The Duggars use "blanket training" where they use corporal punishment on infants, so I can imagine they also engage in other forms of abuse and neglect.

My guess is they have locks on the outside of their kids rooms so they can lock them in at night. That would add up to child endangerment and false imprisonment.

It’s a more extreme version of what Jim Bob and Michelle did. In their house, the boys and girls rooms were in separate wings and you had to pass through the parent’s bedroom to access the girl’s room.

I’m not even sure I want to know the answer to this… but what is “blanket training”?
