The Olympic broadcast is for old people. Snoop is exactly the demographic for the average Olympic watcher -- elder Millenials through Boomers. Elder Millennials and Gen X feel nostalgic for the 90s when they see him, Boomers feel cool for "liking" a rapper (who they probably were annoyed by when their kids were listening to him, but he's been made palatable to them in recent years). Same with Mariah Carey performing. This is not a program for young, hip people. |
