That was lovely; also loved the sole violin on the frozen lake.

He's on stage now isn't he? Or different guy?

This has been sufficiently weird so far. Some of it is really beautiful and lovely, but also the giant bobble heads of Puccini, Rossini, and Verdi are hilarious.

It's not as grande and dramatic as Paris though, at least not yet. All the performances along the Seine, and Celine Dion singing from the Eiffel Tower, Nadal and Serena riding up the Seine on a boat to deliver the Olympic flame. It was iconic.

This is cool though. I always love the parade of nations during the Winter Olympics because I think they do more fun things with the outfits.

OK I’m sure they have their reasons, but I do not like that the parade of athletes is taking place in four different places.

Apparently, he was playing a 1716 Stradivari violin.

I like the high fashion puffer gowns on the women carrying the country names out during the parade of nations is really cool.

It's weird to have the parade happening in two different cities at once though, so the athletes aren't all together. It's kind of the bummer about these Olympics -- Milan and Cortina are not really that close together.

How was it decided who would do the parade of nations in cortina and who would do it in milan? Where their events would be held?

Usually, the athletes who are far from the ceremony don't get to participate at all. This is better than that!

You aren't alone, a lot of people are complaining about this divided Olympics ruing the vibe. The issue is that the Olympics are taking place across a very spread out geographic area and the athletes competing in other cities would not be able to compete in qualifiers and early events and also travel to Milan for the opening ceremonies. There are also split Olympic Villages. It's a bummer IMO.
