Riddle of the day:

What would compel someone who has worked with adults and in pro environment to become an MLS2 ‘director’?

Besides money.

Well its MLSNext Director, not MLS2 so that might be part of it
Yes either next year or following year they will be MLS1 and NVA will start to consolidate back into loudoun because boys will switch.

Current families don’t seem to be too excited about all the new changes.

Is there any truth to rumor that they were on probation with GA? It’s hard to see the club bringing in new talent based on this year’s results. I would be surprised that they would get MLS1 just after 1 year.

The idea of STJ suddenly going “homegrown” is… certainly ambitious. Especially considering their, shall we say, limited success with younger teams, the absence of a Fields pipeline, and a developmental history that doesn’t exactly inspire confidence on the boys’ side.
For example SYC is quietly sitting higher in four of the six age groups (with their B teams) and working with a noticeably stronger player pool seems far more realistically positioned for something like a second homegrown (MLS1) platform. Not that SYC is necessarily asking for one, of course.

So perhaps it might be a good time for STJ
to take a small step back and reconsider whether this particular vision is truly the hill worth climbing and something that make sense with facts.. STJ needs to earn their stripes in MLS2 for atleast 2-3 years winning 4-5 age groups to be considered homegrown division.

This is exactly why you bring in a director with national level connections. Outside of BP there really isn’t any coach around here that has sent so many kids to the top.

Their results will be significantly better next season.

Maybe that's who it is on the boys side with this new hire but not in GA with JO.

How will this impact the Loudoun/NVA/Rev landscape? Will the girls try for Rev?

Any girl that could has already left TSJ for one of those teams.

That’s the rumor, they have already been demoted to Aspire only.

I have nothing to do with STJ but you equate winning with development?

SYC has had the numbers for years and wins but has only produced 1 MLS player I believe.

If TSJ has a blueprint for developing players, other than the pathetic parental view of choosing a club based on the rankings app, why wouldn’t they get a shot at homegrown if they proved they have a plan and the resources?

Development could be taking an EDP-level player and bringing them up to a Homegrown level player.

Winning has nothing to do with development so your argument is immature at best.

BP has players to send. STJ does not.

Oh wow, another reason for families not to be happy if true. They announced GA tryouts, if true that they will be going to Aspire, have families been told that?

It’s a DCUM rumor right now. No one has said they heard anything from the club directly.
