ICE going door to door soon

Why does maim and murder only matter when committed by someone who is undocumented? Why not the same concern and action for survivors and families of those who were maimed and murdered by US citizens who are school shooters? Why is there a difference?

Because they don’t care about the maiming and murdering. They just like excluding an out group, and in this case it’s people with the wrong color skin and the wrong language. They actually rejoice when an undocumented immigrant commits a high profile crime because it means they have another excuse to turn their hatred into policy.

Because illegals shouldn't be here in the first place. Every crime committed by an illegal is a crime that should have never happened.

If you are still supporting Trump, you would have supported Hitler too. Full stop.

Nonsense. Democrats caused this problem by not enforcing immigration laws and having open borders. How many millions of illegal immigrants are communities supposed to accept? Communities were overwhelmed by Biden’s illegal immigrants.

Do you realize that most of this immigration is spurred by the GOP forever wars, some going back to the early days of the Cold War? People flee unstable countries. That is what sane, able people do. Costa Rica is not a big exporter of their citizens because it is stable, fairly prosperous country in relation to its neighbors. Not the case for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Many of the Mexicans who are here w/o documentation have been here for decades when their country was ruled by the PRI.

Twice in the last 15 years a bipartisan group of lawmakers crafted bills to address immigration, inspired by Reagan's successful efforts in the mid 80s. And twice party hardliners, the last time led by Trump, nixed the legislation.

So please, spare us with the Dems did this. Your party did this.

But violence committed by citizens is okay? Is that your rationale? You only selectively oppose violence?

Nobody said that. But we're talking about immigration enforcement.

So if it’s a member of government murdering people, it’s ok? I think if ICE was murdering MAGA, your tune would dramatically change (see Jan 6).

Murder is by definition an illegal act. Who is saying murder is ok?

The current administration seemed it wanted to prevent a routine investigation of the ICE shooting in Minneapolis, so, apparently, the current administration wants to prejudicially make this determination outside of a court.

The overwhelming majority of them hurt no one. They commit less crime than U.S. citizens. They do not receive many government services but still pay the same taxes as everyone else. Many have lived in this country for decades and done nothing but improve the lives of people around them.

But none of that matters to you because you’re so scared and full of hate for people who look different from you that you think all of them, nearly all of whom have done NOTHING to make your life worse in any way, should have their lives upended. You think masked thugs should roam the streets, tear gas schools, and shoot U.S. citizens all because it’s more important that only a certain number of people around you speak Spanish.

This is not about sensible immigration enforcement. It’s about terrorizing a group that you disdain and enforcing a disgusting idea that Americans can only look, act, and sound like you.

No, PP is correct and you really need to think about this. You are essentially confusing theory with practice. In theory, wouldn't it be nice if "illegals" could just go away? In practice, hardly anyone is entirely undocumented, and immigration laws is very complex and needs to be followed if you're a law and order person - which you are, right? Most foreigners are legally here, first of all: I am one of them. The rest have some legal documentation, but overstayed at some point, or need to show up to court hearings to stay in status, or something... so they can often LEGALLY stay, but temporarily and with conditions. If they meet those conditions, they are not illegal, and yet these are the people being targeted for deportation. Immigration law is pretty clear, but ICE is not following the law. The problem is that there aren't enough immigration lawyers to go around, and they cannot get to each detainee in time to argue the law before some of them get deported. And often, ICE is not letting detainees contact lawyers, which is a blatent violation of the law.

Any solution that's just "DEPORT THEM ALL" is bound to come with a ton of rights violations. And I hope you're not OK with that, PP, because if you are, it makes you an inhumane, horrible person. YOU want the law the apply to ALL, otherwise the day someone comes for you, for any reason, you might not get the protection of the law. If you're a white person, this might come as a surprise to you.

Right now detention centers are like concentration camps: people are lying on the floor, without adequate toilets or bathing facilities, and more have died in detention in 2025 than during all of the previous administration's term. Medical needs are not seen to. When you factor in that ALL of the detainees (the immense majority of whom are innocent, documented, and not violent or criminal) have the right under the law to basic humane treatment... what does that make a person who keeps frothing at the mouth and yelling "they asked for it, they got it"? Most of the ICE detainees are decent, hard-working people who for the most part have no legal reason to be detained. Any problems with their documentation or status should be addressed through the courts. We need way more immigration budget than we used to have, but Trump got it wrong: he should have increased the immigration court budget, not the detention and deportation arm! Immigration court is where the backlog resides. That's the bottleneck. But this administration is Nazi-like, in that they want a cruel and inhumane spectacle of throwing out foreigners, instead of actually treating them by the book.

The devil is in the details, PP. Facile solutions are always wrong. If you're tempted by facile solutions touted by charismatic individuals, be very afraid. You're being led down the rabbit hole.

And this is how you get people who support extraordinarily cruel practices. Please reconsider. You can change your mind at any time.
