UNC Wilmington
College of Charleston (but it’s an urban campus, unlike the country club environment at Elon)
Richmond

Loved Elon when we visited. They have great long term plans as well, having just bought a campus in Charlotte.

Another Catholic school. Not sure if it is Jesuit, but take a look at the lists of Catholic and Jesuit schools.

We toured Elon and loved the school. Nice campus. Many kids from New England and Mid Atlantic states. Lots of international kids too.

Furman seemed very southern. Most kids were from within a 2-3 hour drive. Campus also being isolated from the town was different. Nice campus, but he did not like how it was fenced in…

The “Check Your Gun” sign at the main entrance reminded me we were in the South.

Came here to say just this.

I have a Dayton grad and it was a great experience. Not too big, not too small, school spirit (talk to alums, they all still have great school spirit). And great merit aid.

The drive is longer, but an easy drive. And from the DMV, it’s beautiful through western MD.

How’s Dayton for a non-Catholic/non-Christian kid? I know there are many at Jesuit schools, but I don’t know anything about Marianists.

Just answered my own question. There are 0 Jewish undergrads at Dayton.

St. Joe’s has a Center for Jewish - Catholic Thought and Philly itself has a large Jewish community, as well as other schools like Penn.
