Option H is permanent and the old Wootton HS campus will be closed for good?

Have you not been reading? Its not going to be all the same students. It will pull from Gaithersburg HS feeding schools with option H. It shows one in the initial option but plans include pulling around 1000 student from Gaithersburg HS zones.

Can you post a link to the plan that proposes adding 1000 Gaithersburg students + all of Wootton to Crown?

There is no link for adding the 1000 students yet but that was discussed by one of the school board members at a local HOS meeting last night. That being said just look up option H and you will see Rosemont Elementary is listed as being part of the plan. That’s a Gaithersburg HS feeder elementary. Then the plan is to increase from there. But it doesn’t matter, even the one school being in the plan will cause the problems.

So Wootton is so high and mighty that a poor school cannot join them? GTFO.

I really hope Fields Rd, Rosemont and maybe part of Brown Station also goes to Crown along with Wootton. They deserve a good learning environment too.

Wootton parent here and PP does not speak for the majority of parents. That was a disgusting comment and frankly I think they don't realize that Wootton kids already come from many backgrounds socioeconomically etc. Our school has plenty of "problems" already. The same way her kid avoids them at Wootton they can avoid them at Crown. Except now they will actually have working heat and clean updated bathrooms that are not in the middle of the hallway.

I’m a Wootton cluster parent too and couldn’t be happier with this news. From our home (Stone Moll ES) it’s the same distance and time to either location. I’d love to have a new school by the time my oldest is in high school in five years which isn’t possible otherwise. Much better use of funds to do this than to build another high school which isn’t needed.

Geographically I believe only Cold Spring and maybe part of Fallsmead are significantly further and even then it’s not like more than a 10 min difference.

No concerns with adding Fields Rd or Rosemont.

A school rated 7-8 is entirely different than a school rated a 3.

The new high school will definitely be closer to an 8 than a 3 if it absorbs all of Wootton.

This 1K number isn't in any option.

This was what was said in a meeting last week. Yes in the actual posted option it is only taking part of one single elementary school but in the meeting it was stated that the goal is to add about 1k more kids. Honestly if you are not using your critical thinking skills when you are using putting in feedback about options then you are doing yourself and everyone else a disservice. You need to think about long term-They have made it clear what the capacity Of Crown is now and there is also an expansion plan already.
