Our only snow day |
| The roads are fine. This is ridiculous. |
If the snowmelts and freezes you get black ice. Kids leave early for hs. |
It's not going to melt at this point. The roads now will be the roads tomorrow at 7am, which will also be the same as the roads tomorrow at 9am. |
What is wrong with you? Up county they are not fine! And refreezing is a thing. People like you should not have kids. |
I'm upcounty. They've been fine all day. How do you expect snow to melt and refreeze overnight? So many people in MCPS don't even have an elementary-school level of understanding of science. |
I think the ice lesson was scheduled for tomorrow morning |
I'm a parent and that was in the email I received. |
Daylight for the high schoolers at the icy bus stop. |
| It's a 2 hour delay-not the end of the world. I'd much rather be safe than sorry in situations like this, but it's pretty clear that many of you don't prioritize that. |
| Is the ice expected to melt in the morning by 8:45, 9:30, and 10:30 for school buses to arrive to the 13k+ bus stops? If not, close. |
What problem does that have? And how does a delay help? |
Is this a joke? You want schools to close when it's under 32F in the morning? |
Maybe roads will be salted? |
No one has articulated a coherent reason to delay. It's well below freezing now. It's going to stay well below freezing through the delayed opening. There's no refreezing problem, and a delay won't allow the snow to melt before opening. |
