Same girl. I would love a beige CF or a blush last Dior, but I can’t do the $4k purse life. My personal limit is $3k. |
No, I’m not jealous of a handbag. I use pockets like a man and have my shoulders and hands free. I figure you are projecting. By calling us petty and jealous, I see you are the petty and jealous one. You seem really angry calling people here “hypocritical reverse snobs” and other names. Maybe look inside yourself and ask why a question (or a person questioning how they view something) has you so angry with strangers. OP |
The average car is 50k now, and people take loans. OP |
You could be right. I was noticing that I didn’t feel anything about the purse one way or the other. I wondered if I was a bit unusual or odd. OP |
I disagree with you here. The fact I am not interested in purses does not equal “reverse snobbery.” That’s not logical. OP |
To your point, I love good craftsmanship. That might attract me. I've inherited purses made by individuals (not big companies), and I've liked those. Funny, though, because I don't use them. I prefer pockets for now. OP |
Smart people don’t. Car loans are a horrid “investment.” Never had a note on a car myself, never will. And I am a $50 purse tops girl. |
I can’t fit everything I need in pockets. I have chronic migraines and my son has an anaphylactic allergy, so even very streamlined I don’t go anywhere without two medical pens (best migraine meds are shots like an EpiPen). I keep it pretty simple but a purse is necessary. |
It’s unusual to care about nice purses for the average person. I mean, they might care as in enjoying the Devil Wears Prada as a movie, and reading fashion mags in doctor’s offices, but they don’t buy $3k purses. |
| I just got a “nice purse” = a Longchamp tote. I plan to get a bag charm or two from local places. That’s nice enough for me! |

What is a "bag charm"? |
Pp here. Ok? Well my car was 35k, I paid cash and would never take out a loan for a car. I have multiple purses that I’ve paid 5k+ for. I do agree that you should never take out a loan for a purse. |
Good point. My SIL was being a bit nasty about my LV Speedy the other night at dinner, making comments about "How much did my brother spend on that?" when she knows full well I make my own money and buy my own things. Rambling the way some on here have with this "I would never spend that much money on a bag -- my $60 bag is fine, but I don't care about appearances...blah blah." I didn't think about this at the time at all, but I drive a 2017 Subaru (paid for in cash, by me, and not by her brother lol) and she buys a new car every 4 years and is currently in a Cadillac Escalade. I don't tend to notice cars so couldn't have told you this other than the fact that there was also a big conversation about cars that night as her son is having issues with his ... Lincoln Navigator. People enjoy different things and have different priorities. Some people don't understand this (or perhaps they do and just enjoy being judgmental and nasty to others any chance they get?). |
