Why do MAGA assume all blue cities are violent crime ridden hell scapes?

Part of it is that when you live in a city, you know where and when not to be. A tourist may stumble into something, as the line between good and not-good can be a block thin in DC. The smug DC residents here probably don't ride the X2, or whatever its called now, after midnight for instance.

You don't have to be aware of hyper-local distinctions when you're in some MAGA town, so that's why they judge the whole city by its worst parts.

No, you have to be aware of KKKletus and his tribe looking out for strangers to "take care of"

Your head is filled with brainrot propaganda fantasies churned out by Hollywood. Rural Karens may hector outsiders from time to time but they don't rob/murder/rape like what happens in the inner cities.

We moved from a city to a rural area and feel less safe in some ways. While we don’t worry about crime walking down the streets and don’t feel like we are in imminent danger, some dicey things have occurred. I’ve had a neighbor enter our yard and make threats with an chainsaw and our kid’s principal was just threatened with violence by parents and called the n word simply over a holiday party. The racial threats are real here and we are only in southern MD. It’s a notch above Karen heckling

LOL wherever you live is 1000x safer than West Baltimore. You voted with your feet when you moved to a nice section of Maryland. Enjoy!

Where do you live? Seriously. The plastic doors are irritating, though not as pervasive as you claim and I'm not moving to a dead exurb or a rural area because of that. I'd rather have my DCs walking at night in NYC than so so so many other places on the planet and that includes suburban mall parking lots.

What an ironic and moronic appropriation of the term.

Learn some history, friend....

A sundown town was an all-white municipality or neighborhood in the United States that used discriminatory laws, intimidation, or violence to exclude non-whites. The term originated from signs that warned people of color to leave the town by sundown, though they also faced exclusion if they tried to stay overnight as a guest. These practices were common before the 1950s but the legacy continues through practices like racial profiling and other forms of systemic exclusion.

PP was being ironic. Get some critical thinking skills.

What a bald faced lie. Aren't you ashamed of yourself for posting lies? The mayor and district attorney of Jackson Mississippi are both democrats. Delete your lies.

Meanwhile the crime rate in some of these cities is the lowest in years.

Is it just that they’re watching news max or Fox all day long?

It's a useful narrative. Whether it's accurate or even true at all is beside the point.

Actually any time a nerdy-looking white or Asian dude gets punched out or robbed in Chicago or Baltimore people just dismiss it and say they should have known better than to venture out into certain neighborhoods, especially in the dark. That definitely qualifies as the definition of sundown neighborhood. We're in 2025, not the 1950s. Today's sundown neighborhoods are 100% all in the inner cities.

The high crime in red states occur in the blue cities. For example democrat-controlled hellhole Jackson, Mississippi. If you take out the blue cities the crime is low. Don't swallow propaganda uncritically.
No, last few decades there has been drugs in the rural areas, meth.

I'd expect no other response from those who elected a convicted felon, rapist, pedophile and failed business man to the presidency.

Don't confuse the conservative voters with actual facts. It's why they think all cities are crap, because the cities near where they live are crap.

I'm MAGA, and I am confused by this table. Many of these cities appear on both lists, being simultaneously democrat and republican led. Even if you want to say, okay, well maybe they mean during different eras, it doesnt necessarily lead to the conclusion that democrats lead to safer cities. As just one example, St Louis, republican version has a significantly lower homicide rate than St Louis, democrat city.

You do you boo. I choose to live far away from density, subsidized housing, weed odors from neighbors, and mentally unstable hobos outside of my door.

To each their own.

And yet, cities drive the benefit and economics of each and every state. Rural America does not finance our country. Cities finance our country.
