Solid points you make. Coaches inform me the top high school teams in California are still very good (e.g., Mater Dei, Bosch) but that depth is lacking. I am not sure this excuses USC which should get their share of 4 and 5 stars, but the lack of depth - accelerated by demographic changes hurts Cal, Oregon State, Arizona and so on - all schools which rely on the California pipeline.

Too funny. Stanford (and Cal) would have jumped at the chance to join the Big Ten. They had to settle for the ACC. Face it, the ACC is a backup conference.

The only conference ND will ever join is one that gives it a decent chance of winning it. Thus the SEC and B1G aren’t likely landing spots.

It's so awesome to be ND. These two stadium rankings really give the reader a sense of the school with staying power.

Seems the readers voted ND #1 and USC did not make the cut. Oops!!

NYT staffers also ranked stadiums. The result? ND #3 and USC #22. Staying power is amazing.

There's nothing "Walmart" (and whatever else that insinuates) about Michigan, UCLA, Maryland, or Washington.

It is a new era. Notre Dame, USC, and Michigan are relics from a bygone time. This is the age of Vanderbilt football - as we all predicted.

If the ranking predictions are accurate, looks like Vanderbilt has missed the boat this year. ND will be in the playoffs if they continue to win out.
