Solid points you make. Coaches inform me the top high school teams in California are still very good (e.g., Mater Dei, Bosch) but that depth is lacking. I am not sure this excuses USC which should get their share of 4 and 5 stars, but the lack of depth - accelerated by demographic changes hurts Cal, Oregon State, Arizona and so on - all schools which rely on the California pipeline. |
Too funny. Stanford (and Cal) would have jumped at the chance to join the Big Ten. They had to settle for the ACC. Face it, the ACC is a backup conference. |
The only conference ND will ever join is one that gives it a decent chance of winning it. Thus the SEC and B1G aren’t likely landing spots. |
