How do you think you get around Democrat governors in PA, MI, NC AZ, and WI

That's blah blah stuff. The fact that this is possible is a systemic problem.

And it reminds me why I hate lawyers. They are wrecking all that was good and decent about America. We used to strive to be a nation of the people, by the people, for the people.

And with the Roberts Court, the only thing that matters is power. The Roberts Court has been disastrous for America. The gerrymandering is the capstone to how awful this Court has been for the American ideal, which used to be a thing.

It's tragic. We need to get rid of lawyers in politics. The snivelly, cynical, look for the loopholes politicians are destroying America. Every other profession is much more focused on the intent of the Constitution - which is very much focused on the power of the people to choose who governs them. But now lawyers in Texas and California think they are the only people that matter. And the lawyers on the Supreme Court agree. And here we are.

I think lawyers have their place, but our system of government is being brought to its knees by bad actors and people who believe in winning at all costs and amassing wealth over the collective good.

Their model is Russia, where a nascent multiparty democracy was turned into a single party dictatorship. Right now we’re about 2/3 the way there, and accelerating.

This. Governor Newsom is a true leader.

Lue states have already gerrymandered almost as much as they can.

How can Mass have 40% republican voters and have zero republican reps?

Also it is known that Illinois is heavily
Gerrymandered as well… so republicans are just catching up to what the dems have already done.

Repair just came out that the max democrats can add is 8 seats through California and other states as they are already heavily tilted to democrats. Republicans can gerrymander up to 20 new seats including adding up to 5 in Florida alone.

So starting this race will leave the democrats down by 12 seats total. So be careful what you with for democrats. You may be -12 seats when this is all finished.

How many seats will NY, WA, OR, NM, NJ give the Democrats with a mid-year redistricting.

WA and OR have actual state commissions that draw non-partisan lines. If every state this this, we wouldn't have such issues right now, but the GOP has opposed it at the state and federal level for years, so here we are.

So does California but they’re taking steps to see if they can put that on pause for the moment.

Meanwhile in Virginia…

This is already all planned out. The court has agreed to do this.

Do you have solid evidence of this or are you just a lib conspiracy theorist or crazy cultish MAGA?

We have 6 months of SCOTUS rulings, including one openly treasonous members who tried to overthrow an election, whose unifying theme is "the law only applies where the Occupant 47 wants it to".

Trump is not a lawyer and the only people who have come close to stopping his war on America are lawyers. Without lawyers all we have are warlords like Trump.

There are multiple sources that show which states are most gerrymandered and it skews heavily to red states. That means there are more blue states that can still gerrymander.

Exactly!! If you don’t know that LAWYERS are the front line working to SAVE DEMOCRACY then you haven’t really been paying attention. The folks behind the scenes financially supporting the destruction of democracy are the billionaire tech bros, bitcoins jackholes, private equity guys, hedge fund founders, and venture capitalists — the folks with MBAs not JDs.

Google Marc Elias then google Peter Thiel.

Yes, I know this is true but for the treasonous maga SCOTUS to issue decisions, even in the shadow docket, that are such stark polar opposites on the same issue would be signing their own end.

SCOTUS upheld CA redistricting. CA used the same argument TX did, and SCOTUS upheld that redistricting. I get it would've been just too obvious if SCOTUS didn't allow CA to do the same thing TX did.

It's hilarious that Trump thought blue states wouldn't fight back. What an idiot, again.

Yes. And to be clear, I'm completely against gerrymandering, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. So there's no choice to be made her. The choice has been made by the Republicans.

Marc isn't interested in democracy. He's interested in iron-fisted raw power for the DNC.
