I have seen wild speculation about the number of attackers and the nature of the attack on Twitter and would just caution people to wait and see how it unfolds. You weren't there, you don't know.

DP. The police report is vague. It states that cops saw "approximately" ten people standing around a car "and attacking" the victims. This is a vague statement. Were all ten people attacking? Were some just standing there? Were some yelling? What were they yelling (were they egging the attackers on or were they upset? We don't know, and it's actually possible the cops don't even know. They saw a group of kids, some of them were clearly attacking this guy, most of them fled when the cops showed up, and two were arrested and IDed by the victims as attackers. The police report was drafted without any investigation, just a brief ID and statement from the victims.

It did not say "approximately two people." It did not say "approximately five people." And it did not say "only two individuals were assaulting C-1."

Obviously Big Balls (good grief that name) was attacked and he has identified two people as his attackers. Those two people have been arrested. If at some point the MPD releases a statement that it is looking for additional assailants as identified by the victims or the two suspects, or that they have video footage of additional people attacking the victims, I will agree that there were however many number of attackers.

As of right now, we know there were two and that there were additional teens present. That's all we know. Some of us live in the land of fact and what can be proven, instead of the land of what is most fun to talk out of our a$$es about on Twitter.

PP again. I am not MAGA, really hate DOGE, and live in DC. In fact at one point I lived three blocks from where this happened.

I do think it's odd that a 19 year old was out at 3am with his girlfriend, just as I think it's odd/bad that a group of younger teens were also out at that time. I view everyone involved in this incident with suspicion because I start from a baseline of "what are we all doing here at this time of night?"

However, it does seem fairly straightforward that Big Balls was attacked. There is photographic evidence, the police witnessed at least some of the attack, and there are statements from both victims. So I'm willing to accept he was attacked.

I will be curious to find out if this really was a group of teens just jumping someone near their car and demanding the car (not unheard of in DC, and a particular problem in recent years), or if there was something else going on. I will note that carjacking victims rarely wind up bloodied like this. Sometimes yes, there are some obvious examples, but usually not. Which does raise the question of exactly what happened. Big Balls had time to get his girlfriend in the car but not to get in the car himself? Could he have just gotten in the car and then drove away? That is what I would have done, while telling my GF to video the incident as we drove away so that we could provide the video to the cops when we called them from a safe location.

Given what we know about Big Balls, I wonder if he escalated the incident. Either from a misguided desire to "be a hero" but intentionally fighting a group of teens to impress his girlfriend or protect his own ego. He's only 19. I also wonder if, given his politics and position, he said or did anything to provoke these kids.

But I don't know any of this. It's speculation. I'm curious to know more. I don't think anyone should be carjacked or beaten up, and I'm a DC resident who would like to see a crack down on juvenile crime because it's way out of hand and something has to be done. But I don't want DC to be federalized and I don't trust Jeanine freaking Pirro to be the one to address this situation.

Stop twisting the story. It was HIS car being carjacked, he just happened to have his GF with him. He wasn’t rushing to defend her honor, as Musk tried to spin.

Yeah I noticed when photo first came out he didn’t same to have any bruises or cuts on his torso — just lots of smeared blood.

A bloody nose would make sense, or even maybe he is an MMA enthusiast and dominated his attackers and that was their blood (I mean it would be on brand, look at Zuck).

+1 I want the carjackings and violent crime to stop as much as anyone else. Please consider that the majority of teenagers in DC go to school and go home just like everyone else. So ten teenagers assaulted a young man and his girlfriend and tried to steel his car at 3 AM.

I don't see how this is a political issue at all. Clearly the parents of those ten teenagers are completely derelict. In a healthy society, those ten teenagers rampaging at 3 AM and hurting people would be put in juvenile detention for a good long while. And both the mother and father would have their wages garnished to pay for it.

Problem solved.

But we have a mayor and city council that encourages this crap. After years of this, I suspect a majority of the DMV would welcome a federal takeover of the city.
