Do you know any high functioning alcoholics who mostly hide it?

lol splitting a bottle of wine at happy hour isn’t alcoholism.

It concerns me how many people apparently live in a hole in the ground.

Is it really accurate to describe 2 glasses of wine (plus 2.5 oz) as "polished off", and during a happy hour (where traditionally it's 2 drinks for the price of 1)? Especially if the boss is a man. Isn't the max recommended daily for men 2 glasses? I would reserve "polished off" for consuming a little more than 2.5 drinks.

It was a happy hour in the office - it didn't even last a full hour and I'm being generous by saying it was a half a bottle. It was probably more like 2/3.

I don't think anyone said it was.

I don’t personally know a high functioning alcoholic, although I’m sure that there are several in my circle without my knowing it however, I do know fairly well two high functioning people who are addicted to pills. Both of them incidentally are lawyers very successful, well regarding in the community and good fathers and husbands as far as I know, but definitely have a problem.
