Using pick up spots as regular parking spots.

I mostly hate the ones outside restaurants. We didn't have those before Covid, even though people did take out. Why do we still need them?

these were definitely a thing before covid. I remember outback and all the like chains (chili’s etc…) having not only designated spots but a whole separate entrance for pickup. That was when I was in high school and I’m 43 so yeah-not just covid.

Fair enough, but I'm not talking about chains. Nice restaurants installed these during covid and never got rid of them.

Restaurant take out is completely different than what OP is talking about. Grocery store pick up is a thing that really took off during COVID for safety reasons. No reason to keep 20 spots outside for this purpose when most people are back to shopping in person.

I won’t park in them but do wish places with small lots would get rid of them.

Grocery pickup in my city started a few years before Covid.

imagine how much safer it would be if you never had to leave the car with them-ya know and actually use the pick up spot for what it’s for.

Never have to leave my car.

Sounds awful.

My kids learn a lot when we shop together.

We’ll keep using the pickup spots, thanks.

learn stuff like disregarding signs/rules etc…?

Like knowing the difference betw a rule and a “rule.”

Nice try, though.

Gonna love how this works out for them in school.

But calling the people doing pickups the lazy ones. make it make sense.

Are you talking about the ones sitting in their cars waiting for someone else to shop for them? In that case, I totally agree.

I’m not PP, but both. Do your body some good and walk.
1. Park
2. Get out of your vehicle.
3. Walk to the store.
4. Shop for your items.
5. Pay for your items.
6. Walk back to your vehicle.
7. Load your vehicle.
8. Get into your vehicle.
9. Safely drive away.

That wasn’t too hard, now was it?

Wondering why you seem to think calling someone a grandma is an insult?

it’s basically just saying people that aren’t super good at understanding the internet/apps etc…This would include my own dad and in-laws. They can use the internet-sure, but not for more complicated things like the awful “pickup scheduling” that some people don’t even know is still going on. Even though it’s an option as big as anything else on the page when you are checking out at literally any store online.

Not the PP you're responding to, but I'm sure you'll find it inconceivable that some of us prefer to shop for ourselves because the shoppers never pick the right produce and don't care about looking for items very carefully. Not using pick up for everything is most certainly not because I don't know how. You should refrain from feeling superior over such dumb shit.

definitely not superior but absolutely more efficient and better with time management 🙂

I'm a SAHM (older kids) with all the time in the world. I do my own shopping.
