This gets me irrationally angry. I’ve seen it in so many places and the entitlement is just gross.
So many times I have gone for my weekly sams club pickup and there are no pick up spots available-then i’m waiting in a regular spot and notice that many of the cars in the pick up spots are empty. Why? All the time at target too. I just don’t get it. I have so much to do today and of course that’s the case today. I am amazed by how many people think that they things don’t apply to them. Just a rant-so many people just really don’t consider others. |
IMO it's not a big deal. Usually when you check in the store brings the items out anyway. |
It's such a simple thing, but this makes me irrationally angry, too, OP. I see it often at Target, which usually still has empty pickup spots, and Walmart, which usually doesn't. I just saw it the other day at PetSmart, although I wasn't trying to do a pickup there. The spots are clearly labeled. Why do these people think the rules don't apply to them? |
Its not legally enforceable. Shrug. If there are no spots, I'm parking in an open spot and doing my shopping. |
How do they even know where to bring them if you can't enter your pickup spot number? |
So not legally enforceable so who cares who you are inconveniencing right? You sound lovely. |
10:12 PP. Please. There are tons of empty spots in Walmart, Target, etc. parking lots. |
Its quite obnoxious for these store to attempt to "reserve" huge swaths of parking for pickup. It inconveniences everyone else- our lot is always jammed. I will park in the first spot I see. Sorry not sorry. |
exactly. They can’t bring you your pickup if they get don’t know what spot you are in. that is the entire point of the specific pick up spots. |
Sorry, if its 50/50 between me being inconvenienced vs. you, I choose me every time. Its not like parking in a handicapped spot. This is for the store's convenience, and yours. Not mine. |
Sure they can. Call the number. Describe your location. Pop the trunk and wait outside by your trunk. Wave the employee over. If that's tooooo hard, you should just pony up for delivery. |
Haha ok. maybe just don’t be a jerk? seems easier. |
when I see this I always think about the mom with a newborn who is having a hard day and just trying to pick up her kids diapers/formula etc…and then seeing all these regular shoppers parked in the pick up spots so she can’t. I see those folks have commented today that they simply don’t care and they will park wherever. |
I'm parking in a legally available parking space. You, too, can park anywhere you choose! |
My Target has easily 3-4x the number of pickup spots reserved than are ever actually in use. At the grocery store I frequent, I've never seen anyone getting pick up and they have like 8 spots reserved for it. So that's kind of ridiculous.
Sometimes I will have a pickup order and then need to run into the store for something else. I'm not moving my car for that. |
