wtf.
This forum has gotten really stupid.

I don’t know. What are UNHC profit margins each year? Double digits?

Meh; just execute Luigi already.

He just really needs to be convicted and die through lethal injection asap.

While i certainly do not condone what he did, I don’t think he should be executed.

Not because I oppose capital punishment - I DO believe in the death penalty. But I oppose it for him, in this particular case, because I’m absolutely certain he *wouldn’t* be facing the death penalty if he’d shot ME in the back. Or you. Because we’re both nobodies. And they wouldn’t have pursued a death penalty against him for killing me. But going for a death penalty in this case where he kills a rich CEO? That messaging tells me that my life isn’t as important as Thompson’s.

That is why I oppose his possible execution. Because he wouldn’t face death if he’d shot you or me.

You don’t get it.

Killing a representative of an industry whilst leaving labels bullets and Monopoly money, and then a Note to the Feds, is a highly deliberate political move designed to rile up the masses and create unrest.

Killing you and labeling some bullets with DCUM sux or DC puke would not incite that.

Hence the terrorism charge and politicalization out of the gate, by Luigi, on purpose.

The Parkland school shooter didn’t get the death penalty for killing 14 kids and 3 staff members. Come to think of it, I don’t think any school shooter has been threatened with the death penalty.

Yet, we’re supposed to believe the death of one CEO is worse than the massacre of a bunch of kids?

False equivalence.

What was the Parkland killer’s political message?

Did he label his shell casings with anti school or anti children book titles?

Did he run off on his own $5k e-bike and drop his $300 backpack full of anti-school game pieces?

Did he stalk and target specific children because he didn’t like where their parents worked?

Did he wear a mask and hoodie for 10 days leading up to his kill and stalk the school premises for days? Pay cash for everything? Use a fake id for everything?

Did he flee across state lines on buses with no cameras?

Did he have a written confession To The Feds in his coat pocket and a notebook diary of his hatred and killing plans?

Did he illegally print or buy a 3D gun and silencer?

Did he get a $1000/ hour criminal defense attorney marketing agent in two states?

No. No to all of these crimes and felonies. Parkland shooter outcast went bananas and grabbed someone’s gun and went to the only place he knew from his life.

Sad & tragic, but very very different from the above premeditated stalking, homicide and politiking.

This. Full stop.
Case in a nutshell. And the only scope the Federal prosecutors will focus on.

Oh no, I DO get it.

I flow chartered your little explanation there about 3 seconds after I heard they were seeking the death penalty. Long before you tapped out your post.

Guess what? Doesn’t matter to me. Still not a valid reason for the death penalty. You’re wrong, and you devalue the lives of ordinary people in favor of elites.

That’s gross and weird.

Or perhaps you need to have some desperately needed health insurance coverage be denied and then report back how you feel about Luigi.

NP I have stage 4 breast cancer and understand the frustration. I would NEVER condone violence or murder. Ever.

Has your medical treatment been denied.
your treatment didn’t get denied. Just coverage for it does

Can you pay for a procedure out of pocket? Can you get a quote on how much a procedure will cost? Can you get a payment plan? Can you just write a check for say a C-section when you are also paying $2600 a month in premiums?

Do you mean a medically advised and peer tested reason for a c section? Or “just because” you feel like having a c section, anesthesia epidural team, surgical team, etc.

Guess what? In Canada and the UK under NHS you don’t even get a obgyn when in labor and delivery. You get one midwife helping many women at the same time.

If there’s a complication good luck. Hope the surgeon is close by or in the building.
That’s why every employer in London also offers private health insurance in addition to NHs employee and employer paycheck payments. They use it for L&D and any other intensive surgery or treatment to avoid wait lists and lack of options. And thus hire less people and pay them less- since benefit costs are too high.

Enjoy!

WTF are you talking about?! I’m living in the U.S. What does having a baby in the UK system have to do with anything we are discussing? What the UK has for a medical system has zero bearing on this discussion of the U.S. healthcare system. We have problems here.

Martyr him?

Sure, great idea. They shot dumbass what’s her face while committing a bunch of crimes on 1/6 and hillbillies are STILL mad about it.

Kill Luigi? Lol, ok.

If Luigi did what he is alleged to have done (innocent until proven guilty, remember?), he should go to jail for a long time. I think the terrorism charge is grandstanding, and so is the death penalty. Many murderers go to jail for a long time but few of them are put to death. Luigi clearly had some sort of mental break, but he's hardly a "terrorist." It's a tragic situation. He could have taken a different path if he wanted to bring down a health care company. If he were ugly and poor, would anyone care? I doubt it.

You are responding to a post delineating the difference between a planned, premeditated killing of a targeted industry rep vs a random killing of Joe Schmo nobody.

Death penalty was not brought up.

Pay attention. And don’t go into law or any field with actual reading and processing.

NY changed the definition of their terrorism laws and definitions after 9/11. Read all about it yourself.
Unless you single-handedly changed them to something else recently, on behalf of the state. Did you?

And yet in 2022, the U.S. had a rate of 22.3 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births, while Canada's rate was about 8 deaths per 100,000.

Odd that it's still safer to deliver in Canada, isn't it?
