Yes, thank you! Definitely no “moving on” or “letting sleeping dogs lie.” If we want to win and prevent this from happening again, we need people willing to investigate and prosecute the people in charge that are breaking the law right now. There are people that need to be charged with treason. |
When the next candidate who has POTUS level leadership skills and charisma steps up, it indeed won't matter where they're from or what they look like. It also won't matter if they are initially labeled a moderate or progressive because elites leaders don't let silly identity labels define them or their agenda. This discussion will be much more relevant in 2027 when our next round of POTUS candidates begin their campaigns. |
True, the only type that historically wins for Dems is charismatic and visionary (JFK, Bill Clinton, Obama). Excluding Biden because 2020 was an odd year. |
Your post is nonsense, stop trying to convince people that moderates are losers, they are not. Biden never should have been president to begin with, he is not the standard to which all Dems should be compared. If you’ve learn nothing else from the current administration at least let it be that extreme anything is bad business. True believers on either side if the isle cannot have the nations best interest at heart. Only those candidates willing to break from party lines to support causes overwhelmingly in benefit of the nation as a whole should be voted into office on either side and at every level. The status quo think compromise is a weakness to the contrary it shows great strength. Hopefully all voters will remember that otherwise it’s a path to self destruction. |
Being a moderate is not what you think it means. |
I think Democrats are pretty lost. Most people's experience with Democrats is at the local level. Think DC Council and school boards. Absolutely no one wants more social progressives. And that is the brand that Democrats are rolling with. If Republicans go with a Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, Nikki Haley kind of candidate, Democrats are toast. I honestly think the GOP is more fixeable at this moment in time. Democrats have lost the plot on a lot of issues. But I'm happy to see Sanders and AOC focusing on the working and middle class. I think economic issues are where it's at for Democrats. But they are going to be sucked into all the progressive BS, so it will be difficult for Democrats to connect with average American families. Democrats could totally go left on economic issues. But encouraging illegal migrants, DEI, restorative justice, soft on violent crime, out of control public schools, young white men are terrible, and not even acknowledging that women are women is going to hit them. The biggest message Democrats have for most people is We Don't Like You. And you don't win elections that way. Democrats need to find a candidate that can reject the progressive garbage that's killing them and get back to health care, the environment, income disparity and so on. |
+1 Whoever you are, you hit the nail on the head! Hope Democrat leaders listen! |
With Trump still being the sitting POTUS in 2028 and with his form grip on control of GOP, there is a 99% chance the 2028 GOP nominee will be a Trump endorsed candidate. I just don't see a path to the nomination for a normal GOP POTUS candidate while Trump is the sitting POTUS. Considering the likelihood of a Trump endorsed GOP nominee, the Dems will have the luxury of having an opponent who weakened by being associated with the very unpopular sitting POTUS (similar to the 2020 and 2024 elections when the incumbent party was severely weakened by the unpopularity of the sitting POTUS). If by some miraculous chain of events the GOP is able to separate from Trump's stranglehold on power in the party by 2028 and they nominate a normal candidate who has distanced themselves from Trump, it will be a great step forward for both parties and the country. We're much better off when both of our major parties are functioning at an adequate level. |
haha you think these republican lunatics are going to wake up from their cocaine haze and decide adam kinzinger is their guy? my friend |
Pritzker and Walz the dream ticket. |
Every Dem register as a republican and primary whatever Trump endorsed candidate there is. That is, if they have primaries. Or elections. |
No, I’m a registered Democrat and I want to vote in my own contested primary, thanks. |
You are a dolt if you think this is the Dem position. Step away from what you're spoonfed, will you? |
You think that is false?? |
It’s a Maga woman. Underlined is the clue. Don’t engage. |
