Exactly, which is why it stinks of setup, especially after her husband's nonsense about the allgedly-aggressive pro-Ukraine protesters who scared the 3-year old he wasn't properly parenting (didn't happen, but he can and will use his position of authority to claim whatever he likes, and the MAGA crew isn't exactly great with the critical thinking and debunking skills to unpack it) |
Okay fine. Get away as often as possible. But why intentionally drag a young child through this political storm? |
I mean…she married the guy. I really have no sympathy for her. |
Come on - she's not Melanie here. We have no reason to believe she is anything but deeply in love and committed to this dismal man and administration. |
The same question could be posed of Leon. The kids are props. They are shields. They are a distraction. People will talk about what a good mother she is vs talking the whys of the trip |
Using a kid as a human shield makes you a good mother or father? Wrong. |
DP but I think this is that poster’s point. She’s not a good mom but she will make sure the camera catches her smiling and making animated faces at her prop baby and the right wing press will say what a good mom she is. |
^^^Usha is nothing if not good at knowing where the camera is. That’s how they either always catch her looking directly at the camera or looking adoringly at her heinous husband. |
These Usha posts are really bothering me because they seem very sexist in nature — if you don’t believe she has agency. All this “she’s conflicted” makes it seem like we are not in the 21st century in America. Look at Pam Bondi. She’s evil. I’d really like women to start actively understanding that these women have choices. We have choices. |
It's only been 50 days and they're travelling a lot. She dragged all 3 kids to Germany when JD made his infamous speech embracing the far right neo nazis, then Vermont where they had the protesters and now Greenland. I guess when you have a military jet and a massive staff at your disposal and paid by the American taxpayer, you can take your kids anywhere. But agreed that it's crap parenting to drag a kid where the prime minister has called your visit "aggressive." |
Seems like a bad idea to send Usha Vance and their child there when her husband said this in February. Trump's minions are probably trying to provoke a confrontation and an excuse to invade.

Absolutely. But the NSA is there is part to visit the US military base, which means Greenland can’t really say no. But calling it highly aggressive and condemning them from coming is pretty d**amn close. And will backfire. If we get Greenland, it’s through diplomacy. Does anyone think we want a land war above the Arctic circle? If they do, it’s because they have never actually been that far North for more than a cruise stop a a pretty day. |
Truly sickening. Never forget this. |
Yup, the US will use some random affront to justify invading Greenland. Gross that Usha is ok with using her kid as a human shield. |
Believe them when they tell you what they plan to do. From the linked article: Vance suggested that the only real solution to the national security issue was to take “more territorial interest in Greenland.” He stressed that Trump would take the island if necessary, saying, “That is what President Trump is going to do because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us; he cares about putting the interests of American citizens first.” |
