The focus needs to be on giving disadvantaged youth something that resembles an equal opportunity from birth. The only way to do that is through pre-kindergarten programs that reach all children in their most formative years which from infancy to 5 years old. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more important to keeping true to the values of our good people and country than giving all kids a fair chance at life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. |
+1. At least we don’t have to pretend to include them anymore. DEI is gone, so when they’re not hired, they will know it was because a woman/minority was better than them. |
Could not agree more! |
Are people really this stupid or ignorant? These jobs demanded no real qualifications and were singularly focused but had no direction. Only six-figure salaries for token AA executive positions. https://www.fastcompany.com/90967182/whats-next-for-chief-diversity-officers "In 2020, amidst the Black Lives Matter movement, many corporate leaders announced new commitments to diversity. Some called this time 'the diversity tipping point' and CDO roles became one of the hottest jobs in the marketplace." https://www.mckinsey.com/capabilities/people-and-organizational-performance/our-insights/unlocking-the-potential-of-chief-diversity-officers "The rate of new CDO hires in 2021 was nearly triple the rate of hires in the previous 16 months. In fact, among Fortune 500 companies, 53 percent now have a CDO or equivalent role and more than 60 have since May 2020 appointed their first-ever diversity leader." https://www.dailywire.com/news/corporate-america-shows-signs-of-buyers-remorse-after-blowing-millions-on-diversity-officers "A new report from The Wall Street Journal reveals that in 2018, “less than half the companies in the S&P 500 employed someone” in the CDO role, but by 2022 — in the wake of the BLM movement — nearly 75% of S&P 500 companies had that role. Since then, companies have experienced a 40% turnover, and job seekers are reportedly “skittish” about taking on a role that focuses squarely on diversity." |
You are joking, right? I mean, the part in bold above: it’s a joke, right?? If not, go to Google images, and search: “ chief dei officer .” |
Wow, so much hatred for white males. Or are these all trolls? |
Nothing wrong with a business entity seeking to maintain a diverse workforce as long as they aren't hiring less qualified applicants over more qualified applicants based on race or gender. |
Who is going to do all the investigating, scrutinizing, monitoring, enforcing, and penalizing at all these schools? Sounds like a lot of work for a dept that is getting shut down. |
Every school district with two or three schools in a category (elementary, middle, high) draws districts to accomplish two things: 1. The privileged upper middle class white kids will all go to the same school or else their politically connected parents would raise all hell, but the lines will be drawn to include just enough low-income kids to ensure that their school qualifies for Title I federal funds. 2. Because most of the parents with political influence are clustered in one school, the other schools full of low-and moderate income kids will get fewer resources from the district and will have a harder time recruiting and retaining teachers. |
The majority of less-qualified hires are White. That has always been true. |
Link please |
Don’t need a link. Ask any woman who has had to carry a department while her idiot white male peers cozy up to the VPs and get bonuses and promotions for slapping their name on her work. |
Oooh, anecdata! That’s persuasive. —DP |
I doubt this is constitutional. It seems like this rule violates the first amendment. This memo also seems like it goes far beyond the scope of the 2023 SCOTUS ruling. Chief Justice John Roberts specifically said “Nothing in this opinion should be construed as prohibiting universities from considering an applicant’s discussion of how race affected his or her life, be it through discrimination, inspiration, or otherwise. ” This memo is a very aggressive interpretation of this SCOTUS precedent. It appears that Dept of Ed. would consider a Thai food club or an African American studies class to be illegal and racially discriminatory under this test. That is patently absurd. |
It feels like a pattern that will never be broken in America. |
