Dept of Ed Gives Schools Two Weeks to Eliminate Race-Based Programs

They include modules on the US Slave trade and the Civil Rights movement in the speech they want eradicated.

Is this really a threat when they are revoking federal funding anyway?

I thought Republicans wanted the Department of Education to leave states and local schools alone. Exhibit 5,095,472 that “states rights” and “federalism” and “originalism” and their other “beliefs” that the Constitution prevents the federal government from defining standards for state and local governments have always only been invoked to allow the states and locals to discriminate against their residents and to let corporations to evade labor, environmental, and consumer protection laws. They have never really believed that states have rights that are not conservative extremism.

You don’t need any of those things. Just be inclusive to everyone.

The AA students associations are in fact open to everyone. There were always a few non Asians in the membership. There is no "Asians only" requirement.

Seems like the name alone creates exclusions. If someone made a White Girl student association do you think a Black Man is going to feel welcome even if they claim no White or female requirement? DEI people always claim inclusion but create nothing but exclusion.

Okay, this argument is on its face nonsense, but let's just look at the philosophy here. How is ANYONE being hurt by not participating in a WOMEN in STEM club or an International club?
There is no harm, so why the frack do you care?

Saying DEI = inclusion is just front for racists. I don’t tolerate racism.

I don’t think you ever read a history book. Or a dictionary. Like ever.

I don’t care beyond the fact that if my White brother wanted to start a White Redneck Hunting Club the Black vegan women from the STEM club would be the first to oppose it. Free speech only works if it works both ways. It’s not like that anymore. It has to exist as anything goes or it won’t work. That’s what you fail to understand.

I don't even know where to begin...I feel like I'm in that Harry Potter movie where the Ministry of Magic keeps issuing inane decrees

Good. Enough of the government sanctioned discrimination.

You don't understand racism. And DEI is inclusion, not exclusion. You are convinced that all these unqualified minorities are getting something you're not, instead of seeing that making the tent bigger is a GOOD thing. You do not want inclusion. You want the same small tent so you can keep your piece and not have to share.

I don't know if it is racism so much as selfish, myopic narcissism, but your arguments are not in good faith.

And Women's clubs and LGBTQ clubs and Black American clubs are not racist. They just ARE. Get over it.

So how do you cope when a white guy gets the job you vie for? You can't scream DEI. That must really hurt and it is awful convenient that everyone else is DEI except for white men.

God, the fragility must be exhausting to bear.

These organizations existed long before your "DEI" demon. Do people no longer have the freedom to assemble?

There are Christian organizations on campus too. They are open to everyone. Can they not meet? Given the current administrations favoritism to Christians, I think maybe they shouldn't.

^^^
See what I wrote up there borders in nonsense. But that is the same lack of logic you seem to be following. Good job

So much for honest history. Indoctrination and propaganda is the name of the game.

Would you have that same energy if white students wanted a white organization?

Do you have a cite for this? I’m trying to find one.

I hope everyone realizes that the next step in the DEI wars is to rewrite history. it is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. It’ll be interesting to see how history will be taught in classrooms when you eliminate all mentions of: the conquest of Native Americans by European settlers, the slave trade, the role played by people of people of color in shaping this country, the suffragette movement, the civil rights movement, the Japanese internment camps, and so on and so forth. What’s left? The history of white men.
