I went to teach in rural SC in the mid-1990s to take advantage of a government grant for certified teachers. I found out the high school had just been de-segregated in the 1980s!!!!! That’s how long that County fought, went to court, ect…..I was shown the old African-American school. “separate but equal” my a$$. This is exactly what Project 2025 wants. People that think these idiots only want to go race-blind by the test scores are missing the fact that this group lies & manipulated to get what they want. It’s real easy to not take test scores or overlook them and give a huge advantage to “recommendations”. |
PP was referring to trans women, not females, when they said "women that don't menstruate". |
LOL. Good luck with that! |
Nice goal but we aren’t there. |
The race-based med school pipelines are pretty egregious. |
+1 As evidenced by all of this backlash against 'DEI'. |
Programs like those are designed to support groups that have barriers. To reduce discrimination. |
People should actually do this. I’d sign up my kids. After a while the left would complain and someone would take it to the Supreme Court and we’d either be allowed to have our groups or they would shut down all of this stuff. Either way is fine with me, but if we have black groups or girl groups then I definitely want white groups too. |
DP. Agree we aren't there and need to get there. But I think DEI/AA are absolutely terrible ways to accomplish that goal. In fact, I think they contribute to preventing us from ever getting to an equal opportunity/race blind society. So I 100% disagree with your conclusion about what the backlash against DEI "proves". |
Coding camps are 90% white male? Do asians girls= white males in this statement? |
I’m a middle school teacher in Baltimore county. I have very few students who are not Black.
We hosted a weekly club called Black Boy Joy, but we are no longer allowed to run the club and those boys will no longer get that time and attention. |
Reasonable accommodation doesn't mean relaxed standards. The Stuyvesant test in NYC provides reasonable accommodation but everybody takes the test. |
DP This is a stupid attempt at gotcha. By almost every objective measures white kids outperform black and hispanic kids. |
This doesn’t make sense. Host the club without reference to race. It is Baltimore- the racial make/up will remain the same. |
Yes you can still give them that time and attention. Rename your club (kind of silly name anyway). Keep your same focus. Open it up to everyone. You might get a couple of White kids but so what. It would only be a problem if your program was in a 98% white school. |
