Walmart is just as bad, pp. Honestly, I haven’t set foot in target in years. There’s no need. They just sell junk. I’ve only gone into Walmart a few times while traveling and had no other option. |
Where did people say they are regularly buying throws, pottery or decorative lamps regularly? People are saying they go to Target when they need these things, not that they are buying these things every week or month. Anyway some of that stuff does not last "practically forever." Especially anything fabric that gets washed regularly will fall apart at some point -- sheets, towels, blankets, etc. Dishes break. If you have kids you have to buy items for their rooms, and you may have to replace certain things more frequently because a kid has grown into a bigger bed size or has aged into homework and needs a desk and desk lamp. It's not like you outfit your home at age 30 and then never need another housewares item again for the rest of your life. Are you a depression-era grandmother? |
This. DEI is an obviously good idea that has many flawed implementations. They aren’t trying to fix that. They are falling in line with Trump erasing the Tuskegee Airmen from military education, and whitewashing slavery and Jim Crow from history. Look at this mealy mouth statement: “ “And as a retailer that serves millions of consumers every day, we understand the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape, now and in the future – all in service of driving Target’s growth and winning together.”l They are admitting that they believe that the MAGA mandate exists. This isn’t about being annoyed pride flag elves at Christmas. It’s not about execs mad that political activism increasing costs and reducing profits. It’s about surrendering to Trump’s war on America and world. It’s about conceding to “they’re eating the cats out there” and tolerating storming the Capitol to overturn an election. Target is following the way the wind is blowing on them. Blow harder. If they want to hand over the country to the people staging anti-LGBT-existence protests in the stores, and you don’t like that, then stop paying them to do it. |
I haven't really shopped there since they reorganized the store. It's impossible to find things. |
Try to keep up. It’s not about starving ignorant deluded individual Trump voters to death. It’s about not funding billionaire’s propaganda campaigns to make America a more hateful amd dishonest place.. |
Costco is reputable |
| DEI is important but it’s not the only criteria for judging these corporations. I try to look closer at their political contributions and it is my understanding that Target leans Democratic in that regard. I always shop Lowes over Hone Depot for that reason too. Any information on which corporations are at least balanced is useful |
But Trump voters put him into office! Without the votes, he doesn't get elected. Or did you miss 4th grade social studies? |
| If they had just stopped carrying some lines because they weren’t selling, I never would have noticed. I’m not the market they seek for black and lgbtq items. Never even noticed them. But three days ago they had a webpage that went on about how they value everyone and yesterday that was gone. THAT’S what drove me away. Changing your company values for the worse is either admitting you never valued everyone, or caving to the worst people by going along with them for acceptance or to avoid being harassed. I have a GIANT program with that. So, Target, have you always been a-holes? Or are you just obeying in advance like a “good german”? Either way, bye. |
I was so disappointed as well when I heard this. 😞 |
Yes, never trust greedy capitalists for social good. |
Yes lol. |
| Just sit in your box and like it! |
Nothing you buy from Target is lasting forever. It’s crap. Which is how they feel you back in. You know all this is for social media. |
You research every company you buy something from? It’s a purchase not a political declaration. For any sane and rational person. |
