Why aren't people protesting?

The ballot box is what counts, not prancing around in pink knit hats and waving signs and shouting, which many people perceive as merely unhinged expressions of childish frustration rather than principled or reflective of mature adult behavior. Vote when you have the opportunity. That's the only thing which brings about change.

Politicians don't look at protesters and say to themselves, "gee, maybe I should vote how that rabble wants me to instead of sticking to the platform I ran and was elected on".

Fsck a ballot.

#teamluigi

This is where former protesters are right now.

I live in a blue state and the amount of “I don’t like Trump but…” comments I have heard are insane.
Trump will have the economy doing well enough people and companies can afford the Democrats' excesses again.

You'll see me at the shooting range, except you won't because I bought MAGA camo so I'll fit right in.

Yep, time to go sleath. Obviously protesting doesn't make much of a difference.

Let's just see how far the MAGAs will go to burn the whole democracy down. F protesting this time. Luigi intensifies.

Maybe if they crash and burn they won't let this happen again but then again, they seem fine with a literal Nazi as one of his top advisors, so... I imagine they'll all boil alive as the temp keeps rising around them.

News Flash:
Right now yet another actual fire just N of LA.
So far 5,000 acres burnt to a crisp.
You Democrats are the ones crashing and burning.

Democrats caused fires?
Are you for real?

I guess they think the Deep State Leftists stole the Control Panel for the Jewish Space Laser when Trump took over the Pentagon. Maybe they got the North Carolina Hurricane Machine too. And now they are hiding out in the basement of Comet Ping Pong using the Space Laser for setting fires in California.

No doubt keep this narrative going because MAGAs will need some deranged conspiracy theory and imaginary bogeymen to keep blaming for everything to go wrong now that Trump's in office and in charge of everything.

Just wait till the inflation and price hikes from all of Trump's lousy policies start hitting pocket books and then the MAGAs will start protesting.

When that happens I'll consider joining them.

MAGAs need to get what they voted for. I'm waiting for them to suffer before I protest anymore.

Why would I protest? We are getting order at the border (most important issue). People should have mass protested demented Biden's orders for an open border free for all. We are also purging this racist DEI garbage. That's also good.

Was there a thread about feeling a sense of dread or impending doom? That’s how I’m starting to feel.

Polling is showing this and it's going to get even higher because people more free to express their views on these issues. Some people I follow on Twitter who were once only very gingerly expressing opposition to trans policies and seemed very much repelled by Trump have suddenly turned MAGA firebrands on a number of issues (but they still express dislike for Trump).

Jesus, nobody cares about this. People cared about groceries, and Trump is not delivering on this. He threw red meat to the most rabid maga, and the rest of the people are still scratching their heads at the grocery store and gas pumps

DP. Your lack of understanding about the election issues is exactly why you lost. And badly.

There are things that he is trying to do that shouldn't be controversial on both sides - like ending lowering drug prices. I think it's time to start speaking up and protesting again! Just silently rolling our eyes isn't helping.

How will protesting be any more effective than rolling your eyes? It’s not like it will put pressure on the administration or draw attention to something that would otherwise go unnoticed.

+1 they absolutely don't care, it will change bringing

I actually don't feel safe protesting this time. I'm not secure in my rights. I was active in 2017 but keeping my head down now.

I realize this is how autocracy happens, basically.

Protests are useless. It’s votes that matter.

This! Everytime I see trump repealed this, drug prices up, tariffs that , this will cost more. Bring it on. I'm looking forward to the coming recession.

Where’s the protest you’re organizing, then?

And what is it going to accomplish?

What are we supposed to be protesting?

MAGA Deplorable.

I know maybe three who think that and they are in the billionaire category. Everyone else - not secretly happy.

I’m in California and I’ve heard it multiple times. I do not think you understand the white-hot rage people feel towards the Democrats right now, right after the fires.

There are no protests here in California for a reason.

How are Democrats responsible for the fires?
