Does he understand that he knows women that have had abortions? He may not know that he knows them, but he most certainly knows them. Is he really okay with them being as good as common murderers the minute they step over certain state borders?

Does he understand that he knows women that have been raped whether he personally knows this detail or not? Is he really okay with having a rapist in power over them?

[b]If he's never been conned himself, he certainly knows people that have been conned. Is he okay with having a con artist sit in the highest office in the country? [b]

Keep trying.

This might be exactly why he doesn't want to vote Democrat

No one is born understanding how to avoid a con artist. You may need to be taught or have a bad experience yourself before you get it.

Trump has long ugly history of being involved in cons. Try to teach your son to avoid this without having to learn the hard way.

PP. You're reading it the wrong way. The point was that the son might not want a con artist to sit in the highest office in the country, hence he's intentionally avoiding voting for a Democrat.

You should get some new material.

My parents were like you, OP, when I voted for Clinton in 2016. I was in my 30s at the time. Let it go. Your son is an adult. He can vote for whoever he wants to vote for.

Stop gossiping about your son to your friends, too. See above about him being an adult.

I get it op.
Being a republican is fine, but your son is supporting a traitorous conman.
I listen to focus groups and it’s really disheartening to listen to people talk about politics. Our citizens don’t understand how government works and really don’t have a clue about basic facts and history.
BUT
I have to wonder what the heck is happening on college campuses. Is DEI really this bad, or is this all online and boys are internalizing what they see on social media.
Something is going on and OP’s son is reacting to it. I’m just not convinced that it’s reality and not just perception.

My brother is Ivy League fed employee and went full maga. Any other issues with groups? Like maga is often a symptom of another issue, so see what other cultural signals he’s appropriating. FWIW I got pulled into the evangelical world in college and my parents, free on campus therapy and anxiety rx got me out.

"Everyone who disagrees with me is stupid and irrational. Why don't they vote like me?"

Pp, it's fine to have these internal thoughts. But one of the reasons there's been a big right ward swing is this constant message of incivility from the left.

People are trying to get educated and find a job but instead are being harassed with identity politics

no advice, op but, I would be very disappointed. I would ask him to not discuss politics when around you and unfortunately I wouldn't want to be around him much.. Considering he has zero sympathy for women in this country and how are rights have been eroded

Oh look. A single, childless cat lady has joined the conversation.

First of all, this is not an insult that you think it is and second I am MARRIED WITH children. We also have cats. Cats are much better than you, vance or donne

Are they your cats or did your wife bring them to the marriage?

Honestly, he may know some men that have been raped as well, although that is not as common.

But a cis man can not get pregnant

The poster is talking about getting raped.

Yes? And we are talking about women getting raped and impregnanted by their rapists. Which leads to abortion and the question of access

No, the poster was talking about the experience of not only getting raped but then have to watch a rapist be put into the oval office. That is infuriatingly insulting enough without any pregnancies involved.

It's amusing that you think that Thomas Jefferson was the only rapist to be in the oval office. Of course there were pregnancies involved with him, but not George Washington who was sterile because of his childhood measles.

Wow. I’d be mighty proud of him. Smart enough to see through all the lies and propaganda. Good for him.

Sorry to hear and thanks for answering the questions. On the other end of the age scale, I am a boomer and 2 of my brothers who were hippies when they were in college turned into Trumpers. It is so gross. We pretty much stopped having get togethers because I cannot stand their racism. We weren't raised like that.

Your family of origin is having get togethers. They just are not inviting you. Maybe your son can go to the get togethers since you describe him as much more tolerant and intelligent.

HA! Trump loves the uneducated! And honestly, op is not missing much. If MAGA want to get together than great! But, they aren't intelligent or tolerant.

HA! Another highly education Kamalist who cannot distinguish between a son being intelligent and tolerant from her family.

Still trying to sort out why the childless cat ladies are concerned about access to abortions.

We care about women's access to health care. And single childless cat ladies can get pregnant. they also have women family and friends too. What about single childless men? Why is there no insult for them?

Posters routinely refer to single childless men as "incels."

Ah the privilege of DCUM is always amusing. Probably 90% of the world receives little or no legacy from a parent, but the privileged DCUMers always think there is a will with a nest egg because they are very special people.

Oh, they absolutely are. I just sit back and read the hysterical responses. Never change, DCUM.

Reading with you and laughing at the sniffiness of the responses.

Seriously!

She would but her husband is cowering in her safe space where she consigned him when Harris lost the election.
