Democracy Dies in Darkness

Hitler didn't start off by murdering 6 million Jews, he ended there.

He started by suspending the constitution, made all the other parties illegal, made it illegal to "insult" the regime, and by rounding up all his political opponents.

All things Donald Trump has said. 👆

I’m sure Bezos wouldn’t mind losing the MSNBC crowd as a core subscriber base, along with any journalist who would quit in protest. The fact that so many journalists that are obviously ideologically committed left wing liberals have not quit says everything there is to know.

No you are an idiot Hitler didn't start off by murdering 6 million Jews, he ended there.

If this was a Biden or Kamala quote, the right would have fire out of every orifice of their body. How do they just pretend he does not mean the actual words that he states? Why would you vote for someone who you did not believe they meant they said? Or Trump supporters do believe this and support it? This is the way a fascist talks.

"Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution"

"“I think the bigger problem are the people from within,” Trump said. “We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics.”

“And I think it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard or, if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen,”"

I don’t understand the subscription cancellations. How does it benefit the left to shut down the Washington Post?

I thought about this as well, but if the Washington Post isn’t independent enough to stand up to an administration then it’s not worth much.

Who still reads a paper? Those over 70?

Trump has support of those from all races.

He is not associated with project 2025 and does not support it.

We've had a very poor economy under 3-1/2 years of Harris and people remember how far their paycheck went under Trump.

Our economy has been so strong it is literally the reason why the fed has struggled to drop the rate. Ever notice how the stock market jumps at bad economic news and drops at otherwise good news?

Where I live, it's possible to read the Washington Post on line. Where do you live?

Agree. LA Times and Washington Post are the only two papers I read daily. It would be shooting myself in the foot to cause them to fail by withholding the revenue needed to keep their journalists and editors working. It was the owners who made the decision not to endorse Kamala and neither of them will be hurt by the boycott.

I am looking at this. Other places like Target offer same day delivery subscription service. Also tired of the cheap stuff on Amazon that can be bought elsewhere at this point. You can search the image and find it somewhere else if you really want it. Costco is better for our bulk subscription stuff so we already have transitioned some of those items.

That would be punishing myself. It’s keeping our household running while DH recovers from major surgery and DD with autism struggles with self-injury. I’d rather focus on supporting the Democrats.

Them and the left. It is weird to me that people aren't funding journalist that support their political beliefs because of this?

Yeah, but it’s clear that the owner has bent the knee to the orange man. Who knows what other positions and reporting he has or will kibosh. The owner is no independent and he’s interfering in the paper’s operations- as his his right as owner.

But they can’t be viewed as independent any longer. They are compromised.
