It seems like "Democracy Dies in darkness" was aspirational.

After subscribing for 15 years, we canceled our subscription at the end of December. Was just too much money to justify for reading the comics which was fast becoming the best part.

Have also slowed buying on Amazon, since we really don't need all of that cheap landfill crap anyhow.

He doesn't really care one way or the other about Trump (or Musk), but he wants government contracts for his rocket ship business. So the easiest way to make those likelier to come is to be friendly to Trump. But Bezos also certainly likes lower taxes and less regulation, so I'm sure it wasn't exactly a tough sell for him...
