Even if you are local. My spouse was hired years ago before Covid with full work at home. Then it was one day a week and now five. We cannot afford to move nor will we uproot the kids. It’s easily a 60-90 minute commute. |

Lots of people OE'ing at Amazon and are sweating the RTO. It seems like Amazon is trying to smoke them out:

What does oe mean? |
Pretty sure it means overemployed -- in this context, working another job(s) in addition to the Amazon job. |
This is when you get when someone who doesn't know what they are talking about throws out some legal terms and pretends to be a lawyer. Stay in your lane, engineer Bob. |
No, I apply for a job based on the posted job description and location that are acceptable to me. I'm not agreeing to do anything and live anywhere that the company desires. |
I don’t know what to say. Teams vary. My husband gets very good performance reviews. I feel like that happens at all big companies. Some teams are more stressful than others. |
The proper DCUM term is "J1, J2, J3 guy". |
This is completely unfair! People have lives you know, Amazon. I mean, how are people supposed to take care of routine tasks like laundry? Preparing family meals? Who is supposed to provide childcare while we are at the office??!? Amazon: please reconsider this inhumane and cruel directive. |
| I am constantly getting headhunter calls for jobs at Amazon. Way more than any other company. I am skeptical this is some kind of stealth layoff. If it is, there’s a major left hand/ right hand problem there. |
It is near impossible to work two jobs. Someone was with my spouse and they figured it out pretty quick. |
They are constantly hiring...then firing... it makes no sense. |
Yawn... not everyone needs child care. Not everyone has young kids... |
That’s how amazon is set up. Even their 401k takes 3 years to vest. |
It's their corporate model - hire to fire. Their business model has them firing or laying off 10-15% of white collar workers each year. If you fully vest at Amazon it means you're pretty damn good at your job. |
