Why would anyone who dislikes Trump drive a Tesla?

Musk endorsed Trump so that Trump would specifically say that EVs are okay. He got more traffic on X than ever before. So more publicity, more sales. He did not give Trump any money (yet). So Elon gets something out of this.

The second thing is that Biden has dumped on Elon every which way so Elon is not thrilled to endorse the Ds. The first thing Biden did when he got into office was to invite the CEO's of car companies for a meeting. Except he did not invite Musk (even though Musk is an American car company) because Musk does not run a union shop. That was the reason and Musk has not forgotten.

No other company is profiting on their EVs (they sell them at a loss so far). Only Tesla is selling at a profit. Why? Because mass production matters.

Finally, Musk was first into the EV market. There would be no EV market without Musk and Tesla. He said at the beginning that he wanted other companies to join him and they have so that's good.

Tesla builds a good car and other companies are now adopting the Tesla charging standard. Tesla has the biggest charging network. Musk can be as crazy as he wants to be. Lots of people do not buy a car based on who started the company. A lot of Americans work for Tesla and have created an EV when no one else had done it before. The company is way more than just Elon. Many talented engineers and workers there.

Do you remember when people gave other people sh*t for buying a Prius (back in the day)? Also people buy I phones even though Apple uses slave labor in China. Other companies just hide their dirty laundry while Elon puts himself out there.

if Elon thinks the best way to sell his cars is to support trump then that is what he thinks. I would never buy one because I refuse to support a brand that is going to turn around and support a candidate that is seriously detrimental to my family. A lot of other customers are saying the same thig but who knows?

Who knows if we can help your family to survive climate change by getting more people to buy solar panels and EVs? Elon is looking at the long game.

DP. The candidate he is supporting does not believe in solar panels and has said that he does not support ev autos and would get rid of mandates in support of them. I guess now that Elon has endorsed him, trump has flip flopped. That is until the last person in the room from a company like Exxon or Devon whispers in his ear, drill baby drill. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp-video/mmvo215216709888

I’m sure you know there’s a difference from passive investing such as retirement/index funds wherein you have no input versus an actively managed portfolio you control with individual stocks. You’re not that clueless

It is the perfect place to display drill baby drill and MAGA bumper stickers.

You are weak. What kind of fool gives money to a company that is working against their own interests?

If you are a pro lifer and my company gives millions to pro choice candidates, why are you spending your money on my products?

Because that same company worked directly for your interest in offering a product that is the best value (in your assessment) for your dollars and that is a compromise you’re willing to make? Duh.

Here’s a solution to that from one of you.

This. End of discussion.

I don’t own a Tesla because they’re ugly not because of weirdo Musk.

Wait until you all find out what the politics of the majority of farmers and cattle ranchers are. You all would starve to death if you have consistent principles and weren’t just throwing irrational temper tantrums about Musk’s political views, which are pretty moderate to be honest. It’s a shame this country is so divided by tribal politics and who is on the appropriate, corrupt team.

Why would anyone care about the political views of a company owner? These are same types of people who won't eat at Chick Fil A for various ill informed reasons.

Do you know the political leanings for Ford? Chrysler? What about Mazda or BMW? Now I need to research Japanese or German politics!!!

Buy the car you like. Life's too short for that noise.

More important, so did my teenage/ young adult kids, who look up to Elon Musk as a hero. They are completely on board with Trump now. This conversation did a lot to solidify that.

+1
Musk has a huge following and he did a great job during the interview to portray Trump as a reasonable guy with making sense policies. I say it as someone who dislikes both guys.

How silly. Of course you will buy if price is good and mileage low.
Like every other rational person in this country.

No sweetheart, the real elephant in the room is:

WHY WOULD ANY DEM SUPPORTING BIDEN/HARRIS GREEN EBERGY POLICY STILL DRIVE GASOLINE CAR IN 2024?

If you are using social media to pressure Musk to stop supporting Trump - or else, Dems will stop buying his cars - that’s unlikely to work.
Musk has a rock solid cult-like following based on his visionary actions, and far more foolish things he said or done in the past, hasn’t change it.

Most Tesla drivers I know don’t like Trump.

Never. I wouldn’t take a free one. He is not to be trusted.
