This seems like a huge elephant in the room, and I just can't figure it out. It makes no sense to me why anyone who doesn't support Trump would own a Tesla.

Most Democrats are hypocritical |
I don't get this either. Musk is a huge Trump supporter, yet every other car in my democratic voting town is a Tesla. How do all these people bury their heads in the sand about this? |
Most Tesla drivers bought them before Elon went insane. |
Most people don't spend their lives consuming twitter/online political content and just buy the products they like. |
This. Did Elon kick him off X at one point? |
He was kicked off Twitter before Elon bought it. |
At this point, why would anyone drive a Tesla? |
I guess because it’s an electric vehicle |
Because some people don’t GAF about the CEO’s politics? Is that so hard to comprehend? |
Many of us bought Teslas way before Elon became a raving lunatic. How much of a simpleton does OP have to be to not understand that? |
There's another thread asking 'why do Republicans hate electric vehicles?'
Now we have this thread acknowledging that for liberals car buying is a political statement. |
Maybe because not everyone considers one's choice of car to be a political statement? Some people just buy cars for transportation, some buy them because they like the design and/or technology, and some buy them as status symbols. Some people don't own cars at all. |
I work with a guy who also got one 5 or 6 years ago. He says he Genuinely liked the car. But decided to ditch it to disassociate himself with anything related to musky. |
Of course they do. They just want to see how it feels to own the libs kind of... |
