Why would anyone who dislikes Trump drive a Tesla?

You really should, separate the brand from the politics of a single guy in the company.

I am a democrat. And considered a Tesla last year despite Musk. But decided not to follow through because of the complaints about quality. So it was back to hybrids for us.

On the upper price end, I wouldn’t be caught dead driving that hideous cyber truck. If I had that kind of money I’d get a Rivian. I mean, who drops 100k to drive around in one of those? Worse than Hummers and that’s saying a lot.

You’re acting as if Teslas are the only EV on the market.

If he success in getting trump elected it will be by far the more destructive choice for the planet and the environment.

Is trump still a stupid climate change denier?

It's not, it's just the best one. Tesla by far and away has the best battery on the market with rapid charging. They have the biggest network of chargers. Tesla has been improving their batteries for almost 10+ years at this point while basically all other automakers are still trying to retrofit their production lines and are still trying to figure out how to make decent batteries. It's really not even close, Tesla is the best battery maker for EVs and the most mature EV automaker. They're ahead by a country mile.

Most Tesla drivers bought them before Elon went insane.

Yes, there are bumper stickers that say this.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-embrace-trump-turning-165411410.html

Hiller began selling bumper stickers on Etsy, Amazon and eBay for Tesla drivers who had fallen out of love with Musk. They bear slogans including “ANTI-ELON TESLA CLUB,” “SHUT UP ELON” and “I BOUGHT THIS BEFORE WE KNEW ELON WAS CRAZY.” Observant drivers can spot them on Bay Area freeways.

One of Hiller’s designs - a red circle with “ELON” in the middle and a line running through it - sold out after Musk endorsed Trump’s 2024 campaign.

IMO, MAGA who drive Teslas are the real head scratchers. I guess it's just a status symbol for them because I thought MAGA were all about "drill, baby, drill" oil. But then, Trump is courting Elon so I guess they are just following their cult leader. I suppose they cannot see the hypocrisy of Trump courting Elon's money.

Who cares about that if he succeeds in getting trump elected. Trump is a climate change denier. Do not give Elon Musk any business. He uses his money to try to screw us all over by getting trump elected.

? A lot of American cars are made in MX. Do Americans who buy such cars pledge their loyalty to MX? Your logic makes no sense.

Teslas are different. The brand is associated with Elon. No other car make is associated with a single person.

DH just leased a Toyota EV. He test drove several EVs, but not a Teslas. We both despise him, even before Trump.

there are many EV choices now other than a Tesla.

Let's also talk about what are the best EV alternatives to Tesla? Many drivers rightly refuse a give a penny to Elon musk, so what should they drive?

I had an Uber driver pick me up in a Tesla once. He was bragging about how its mileage is off the charts and maintenance is so much cheaper than for a gas or hybrid car. I said "what about the Virginia personal property tax?" and he replied "oh, I can't afford that."

dp.. So? You stated "If democrats care so much for the environment, they’d be driving teslas over their ICEs" - they don't need to drive a Tesla to support the environment. They can drive a different EV.

It's kind of like MAGA who say they are willing to pay more to buy Made in America, with American high labor costs, even if it means paying more for the product. They say this, but I'm not so sure they actually practice what they preach. I'm sure if you go to Walmart in deep red country, you'll see plenty of people in the stores with MAGA hats on. At least liberals who buy other EVs because of Elon's ties to Trump aren't hypocritical

? Was the car registered in VA? If it was, I assume he can afford it since hopefully he's paid it.
