We are a group of people who are incredibly tired of the shenanigans at mcps and she proved herself to be the clown in charge when it came to those shenanigans.
I'm not signing the petition but umd just came off the potential list for both of my students. I couldn't stand to have their academic careers continue in an mcps-like environment.

I know… Back in your time anyone could get in but things have changed.

It's become harder to get in because the cost of private colleges and universities has skyrocketed, pushing more people to public institutions. That doesn't mean the quality of education at UMD has improved.

How would we know teaching quality is or is not good at a university or college?

I attended UMD and many of my professors attended Yale, Cornell, and other T20. Did their teaching suck just because the worked at UMD or was it high quality because they attended T20?

Schools are judged and ranked partly by student GPA and test scores. If anyone is sent in to assess teaching quality for all the schools on their list, I’ll be surprised.

Even if Yale was a mess with teaching, which it is sometimes, no one would care because it’s Yale.
