Interested in hearing from employment lawyer/HR types about what impact this rule will actually have. Can't Trump just issue a proposed repeal on his first day in office, take comments and issue the final rule within six months? After that, would fired employees have increased due process rights because there had been a Biden order? |
Yes but Trump surrounds himself with idiots who could easily mess it up, like they did trying to put the citizenship question on the Census. If the repeal has any flaws, it will be challenged in court (in a Dem-friendly jurisdiction) and tied up in litigation for a couple years. Even if Trump ultimately gets his way it might not be until after the 2026 midterms. |
There are lots of people who have been planning for 4 years this time, so I don’t think it will be as idiotic as the first term. Get ready for Trump to be a puppet and the people underneath to be doing the real damage. |
I have no doubt that they will attempt far more chaos. But the courts will be swamped with legal challenges, especially after Biden’s recent anti-Schedule F regulation, which effectively creates a huge due process obstacle for Trump. |
