It's possible a good number of the current acting principals who've been leading their schools since last summer will get named to the permanent positions.

Is that a good thing in all of those schools?! Many of the actings were pulled and placed before their internship commenced. The internship is a more supported process. As an acting - tag you are it - with fewer check ins and support. I truly hope it ends up well. The system is struggling as a whole so we need individual schools to win and thrive even if the system is not.

Really? We see how well all those check ins worked for Beidleman. There are so many people in CO in acting positions it wouldn’t make much of a difference because the people overseeing principals are also learning (and vying to keep) their new job as well.

As of yesterday they have finally advertised the positions for chief of schools, multiple associate superintendents, and multiple directors in OSSWB.

The acting chief of schools is now Peter Moran, and Sean McGee is now acting associate superintendent, in Moran's former role.

Those personnel moves upset oversight of the principals' selection process - we absolutely don't need that chaos injected into the system. It is going to be a while before MCPS stabilizes.

Retire rehire (or substitute). Had to retire for 45 days. Retired Admin and retired teachers have the same rule.

Because there is a shortage of principals and they begged him to come back. People need to be thankful rather than complain. Furthermore, it's his business what he does or not do. It's been 45+ days so he is eligible to return just like any teacher can do.

There are a number of assistant principal positions on MCPS Careers right now, some of schools not on the original list.
