Oxford University tops the Times' World University 2024 rankings

Neither Faulkner or Wilson GRADUATED from UVA at any level. Once again, UVA has never had a graduate win a Nobel Prize. Just give it up already.

Honey, i know you are pissed off that UVA has more Rhodes students (and is a small school!) than any other public in the U.S. but attacking like this isn't attractive. sorry your kid didn't get in. from wiki: The university's alumni, faculty, and researchers have included several U.S. presidents, heads of state, Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, Rhodes Scholars, Marshall Scholars, and Fulbright Scholars. Some 30 different governors of U.S. states have attended the university, as have numerous U.S. senators and members of Congress. UVA has produced 55 Rhodes Scholars, eighth most in the United States, while its alumni have founded companies such as Reddit, CNET, and Space Adventures.

No one cares during the application process about Nobel Prize laureates. No one. They care about the quality of education, small classrooms, Size, student-to-professor ratio, ROI, etc. Nobel doesn't touch any of those issues.

Honey, that doesn’t change the fact that UVA is #161 in the Times World University 2024 rankings. How embarrassing.

The number of Nobel Prize laureates is one of the best indicators of the quality of professors and researchers of universities.

Name a UVA graduate that has become President or won a Nobel. And by the way, West Point (public) has more Rhodes Scholars and is considerably smaller than UVA. (And why does PP believe the Rhodes Scholarship is the single barometer by which to measure universities? It is an award restricted to males only for over 75 years!)

UVA lacks any 'Fields Medal' as well. No Nobels and no Fields will pretty much insure 2nd rate reputation globally.

I think UVA doesn't have any 'Turing Award' recipients either.

OMG. You are ridiculous. I had to look it up. For COMPUTER SCIENCE! Well, guess what? That's not a stronghold of UVA historically, but now being developed under the new dean of student, Jim Ryan. And how many got the Turing Award (30 people) and where - duh, are the scientists that get it? high tech schools like Stanford and MIT who have huge computering departments. Seriously, if you are going to bash UVA check your stats before.

You might as well have said UVA didn't have any 4H awards.
