No, as you well know, that is all Pell grant and social mobility driven. Virginia has a wealthier base than N Carolina ergo there is no way on earth UVA can compete on the Pell grant front, just as it can't with California. If you aren't aware, a university has no idea whether or not an applicant is Pell grant eligible when they accept them. That comes after the fact. So long as USNWR rewards no of Pell grants, it will continue to reward states with disproportionately poor demographics. Everyone knows this.

By that logic, any university visited by a Nobel prize winner can claim affiliation. The list would be massive. The Nobel website recognizes where the laureate studied and their association at the time of the work. Neither applies for Faulkner.
