Faulkner was a 'writer in residence' for 2 years - he did not teach at UVA.
That could be the reason that UNC overtook UVA to be the #4 top public.
If you want to count people such as 'writer in residences, fellows, visiting scholars, visiting researchers etc. etc., UNC has dozens.
