Sure, conservatives have no problem with Indians.
As long as they shut up and vote the right way, they are acceptable as the model minority

Indians obviously ignorant of US immigration policy history. If not for the dems, they as$$ would still be living in mud homes with grass roofs and using out houses. Today rich Indians call themselves "conservatives" because that equals more $$ in the pocket.

This crap keeps popping up a lot.. as though we 'owe' something to the dems. We don't. Let me flip the argument on you. The US owes Indian immigrants a lot for its current state of tech innovation. Without us Silicon valley would have stalled and the money and innovation would have happened elsewhere. Indians would have just gone there. See how that works?

It's not about being a conservative or a liberal. Most of us generally support common sense policies. Is the federal govt. bloated, yes? Should we shut down the dept. of education? No. There's always room in the middle and just because that's not liberal enough for your tastes doesn't make us conservatives. Not that we care what you think..

Anyways.. we don't owe you or the conservatives anything. If you don't like Asians coming into the country, my country, change the laws.. if you can.

Do you know what “innovation” is? Indians, much like Chinese, Japanese and most otters can mass produce…think writing code all day long. Do yourself a favor and look up innovation and whet mar nations are masters at it. Indians not in the pic

Thanks for the information aboout otters. Although if otters can write code, it seems pretty innovative to me, just saying. Also, not sure what "whet mar nations" are? Nation of innovative spellers?

If you are going to insult, at least do it well.

I know. I'm not talking about Indians in India dude. Don't really care where India ranks on that metric. This thread is not about them. Next time you crack open your laptop and search for something remember that both the PC and google are led by Indians AND run by Indians at all levels. Even at Apple, the second and third layer and below is chock full of them. What do you think they all do, write code all day? And only the Whites at Apple "innovate"?

Maude E. Callen
Maude E. Callen was born in Quincy, Florida in 1898. She had many siblings and was orphaned at age six. Callan was raised by her uncle, a physician in Florida, and became a devoted nurse. She served as a nurse-midwife in the Lowcountry of South Carolina for more than 60 years.

Callen graduated from Florida A&M College and went on to the Tuskegee Institute for nursing coursework. In 1923, she was called as an Episcopal missionary nurse and set up a practice as a nurse-midwife in poverty-stricken Pineville, South Carolina. At the time, there were only nine nurse-midwives in South Carolina, and in her lifetime she delivered more than 600 babies. She also instructed other women on midwifery in the Pineville community and attended to thousands of patients in the area, most of whom were African American and poor.

In 1936, Callen became a public health nurse with the Berkeley County Health Department. She continued training young black women as midwives and taught them about prenatal care, labor support, delivery and newborn babies. Life magazine published a photo essay of Callen’s work in 1951, and as a result, readers donated thousands of dollars to support her work in Pineville. She used the donations to open the Maude E. Callen Clinic in 1953, which she ran until she retired in 1971.

Even after her retirement, Callen continued to volunteer and managed a nutrition program for senior citizens, which she operated out of the Maude E. Callen Clinic. The program offered cooked meals, home delivery of the meals five days a week and also provided transportation for the elderly. Many of the citizens she served were younger than Callen herself. She was reportedly invited to the White House by President Ronald Reagan, but declined the invitation because of her commitment to her volunteer service.

The innovators are the engineers.

Why didn't Indians save the expensive plane tickets, and stay and build Google in India? They speak English so it shouldn't be too hard to hire some Americans to do sales and get rich USA users and advertisers. It seems there is some ingredient missing in India, and India'd economic development required grafting ideas from USA.

No OP, you do not +1
The point is that you and other like you in this thread (yes you as a group of posters not all Indians) are coming across as
-greedy
-prideful
-selfish
-delusional
You and the other posters like you are not the greatest. You just are not. You are not special. You are just human.
It isn't racist to point this out. Pointing out character flaws isn't racist
Instead of being these things, be more like Ms. Callen

I'm not the OP. The sentence that starts with "This thread was started by a ..." should have made that obvious. Maybe you should practice reading comprehension so you too can be successful in life instead of practicing racism against group of people that are successful.

Why did your ancestors come here instead of putting up with the shitheads that were screwing them in the old country? People go where they can. Shouldn't take a genius to figure that out.
India did not have the infrastructure that already existed in the US. Most of us came here because colleges here gave us money to come and study. So we came. Once we completed that, employers wanted us to stay here. So we stayed. But things have changed a lot there now. There's a healthy innovation infrastructure there now. Certainly not as big as the US but growing. BTW, ideas are cheap. Every fool has one. The environment, resources and infrastructure are more important.

I’m in the Pakistani American community in Nova and I can tell you every wealthy Pakistani American is an active citizen and a major donor for various causes locally, nationally and internationally as well. A large percentage of the money is sent back home to help extended family members or community and other disaster relief efforts.

Yes, we like nice things and status and wealth but we also believe in giving back.

Lol you personally know every wealthy Pakistani American and they all donate? Ok

Actually yes, I’m in the Pakistani-American society in Nova. We are comprised of doctors, lawyers, business owners, real estate developers, tech executives and other entrepreneurs. We are a vibrant and social bunch. We love to throw fabulous parties and donate to good causes.

Unless you are standing over their shoulders as they write checks or push submit on charity websites, you can't know for sure how much anyone is giving or not. And you can't be sure that it is ALL going back to the home country. There are definitely causes I support from my parents' home country (South Asia but not Pakistan), yet I'll support them to the order of $50, while giving $5000 to some other cause here in the US that matters more to me. All I'm saying is you can't know for sure.

I agree, I'm 2nd gen Pakistani and still support my grandparents' old servants & pay for their kids school fees, health costs etc but the largest part of my charitable giving is here and the money spent in Pk is also money that is earned from property that I inherited there , I don't take $$ from here to give away there. I certainly DONT support politics in PK but I'm not sunni muslim. I find it tragic that Pakistanis are so hellbent on working so hard to help former British colonies flourish but won't work that hard to build up their own country and I think that guilt plays a large part- also many Pakistanis who came in the 70's are from the land owning class and we have large families of the poor who we are responsible for. unless they are Mahajar who left their land in east PK or North India like one side of my family did. We did turn our land in India into a trust that our Indian family manages and uses to support the poor in my family's old village in India. I also give money to help people get out of Pakistan and settle in the EU, Canada etc b/c the current state of PK is not livable except for the wealthy and its due to mismanagement, not actual poverty of resources and I do have a sense of guilt that I live so freely while they live in fear of their lives.

Indian here. I am intrigued because majority Indians drive very "conservative, sensible" colors like silver, grey, white etc. I would like to know the answer to this one as well..lol.

Indians loveeeee TESLA, a status that you have arrived. I’m also a white dude and know numerous Indians with teslas, and a few red ones! I drove my Indian buddy to Tyson’s to pick up his Tesla, and over 50% of the vehicles had Indian or Asian names affixed to the cars being picked up. Another Indian friend told me Tesla is preferred because most newer Indians did not grow up with cars as kids back home and the Tesla is much simpler to own vs an ICE vehicle AND the Tesla tech appeals to their nerdy personality.

+1. My Indian friend told me that her husband wanted her to drive a Tesla. I found that kind of interesting, as my husband does not really express an opinion on what car I drive (and he's also a WASP type whose parents felt it was tacky to drive anything other than a 10-year-old Volvo, even if you could "afford" a much nicer car).

Oh you mean a white guy who inherited wealth earned through racism as well as an old boys’ club network so he barely has to lift a finger to earn more money? How wonderful compared to your friend’s “tacky” DH.
