Beside the grope-a-thon in that photo, the other big thing that stuck out is - no one with any manners and common sense wears a hat at the table - that would have got you some serious side-eye and a talking to by parents. ~ former small town farm kid.

It’s farm/cowboy/rural cosplay.

DP. Because he is not from a small town. He’s from Macon, GA!

Sonny: "Now yous can't leave."

I think inner city people are just much tougher than small town people. Why? Well, we've had to get along in smaller spaces with people from all different walks of life. Small town people just shun and ostracize people. How do I know? My grandparents moved to a small town when my grandfather retired, and the women were NOT nice to my grandmother at all. My grandmother missed being able to walk to her Catholic church, go to the market, and visit with her neighbors.

What exactly is the country music video suggesting? More than a suggesting, it's don't come to our small town because we don't want you here. If they're so tough, why didn't they get into their pick up trucks and drive to the city where the so-called problems are, and do something about it?

We are urban and rural interconnected with each other.

Ugh. Hate it when someone this dumb agrees with me.

Your Bronx Tale analogy is abysmal. Your anecdote about women being mean to your grandmother? Nonsequitur at best (in actuality it’s a tale about a presumably urban woman moving to a rural area and getting her feelings hurt, so runs counter to your alleged point).

“Inner city people” are not remotely tougher than rural or small town people. 95% of both groups are meaningless, ineffectual drones of one type or another. More than half are fat. But the military is drawn almost entirely from the latter. And regular people in rural areas, even the obese ones, deal regularly with a lifestyle that requires a hardier makeup… physical labor, sweating outdoors, bugs and animals, using tools with your own hands. The list goes on. A far cry from ordering DoorDash after yoga.

The song remains shockingly bad and stupid.

You are not entirely correct in the assumptions you are making about who is joining the military.

Military recruits are most often middle class people from the burbs - some rural, some urban, but mostly the burbs and from all over the country. Quite honestly for all of its shortcomings our military has always been on the forefront of diversity and is more representative of the country as a whole than any other organization - as it should be.

I had no idea who this guy was before this "controversy." And I refuse to comment on any of the SM posts (this is my first) b/c i refuse to give him significant attention.

The guys seems like a talentless Dbag. Not only completely self unaware (Macon is not a "small town." I grew up in a small town) but a classless bigot.

It took him creating controversy, over a song he didn't write, using a video location of a 1927 lynching, for him to make it to the top of the charts? Show how talentless he is. Also shows what kind of people his followers are. And frankly, I'm enjoying the discussion among my "friends" to a certain extent b/c they're tell me something about them that I maybe didn't know. And none of it is good. So now I know.

Also why is he showing videos of the BLM protesters and nothing with the riots that happened on January 6th? Or Charlottesville

❤️ him. Great points, here’s an actually great song about a small town amid the opioid epidemic.

Those aren’t even videos of the BLM protesters. It’s foreign stock footage.

"Try That In A Small Town"... filmed at the site of a 1927 lynching. https://www.newsweek.com/did-jason-aldean-shoot-music-video-site-1927-lynching-what-we-know-1813776

Seems he's celebrating how "small towns" used to "take care of things."

It has been edited to remove that. And never had Charlottesville or Jan 6th so …

Morgan is like prime Michael Jackson when it comes to country music success right now. Had nothing to do with his scandal.

And Aldean has been country singer of the year at least once. He's been an A list country super star for years.

A couple of days ago Aldean cut his concert in Hartford CT short and ran off stage, claimed "heat stroke."

Try that in a small town in Arizona - where it gets a lot hotter than it does in Hartford CT.

For being such a tough guy, he sure runs off stage a lot.

He’s almost never photographed without his hat. It’s his security blanket.

Also his slim distressed jeans that have little slits at the frayed bottoms so they are flared *just so* over his boots. Like a woman from the mid-late 90s. It's part of his uniform, he does not deviate. I've always laughed at that. He's a d-bag.
