DP. Macon is about the same size as Alexandria. I think it's silly to call that a small town. I grew up in a place about 1/5 the size of Macon and even that didn't feel like a small town. We had a Walmart and a Target. |
Except that you didn’t mention a single con of cities. Urban dwellers get just as worked up about what they pretend is the truth about small towns (like that anyone with any ability is apparently clamoring to get out and go to a city). It’s equally as obnoxious and ignorant sounding. There are pros and cons to both. People like different things. |
A city that’s the largest one around it for miles is not the same thing as a city that’s part of a massive metro area. Not PP, but I consider Macon a small town because I’m from somewhere much larger. Someone from one of the even smaller towns surrounding it might consider it “the city.” |
I lived in Atlanta for 8 years. Macon is NOT what Aldean is referring to or wants "small town" to mean in his song. |
NP. +1. Macon is absolutely not a “small town”. |
LOL, he's not "canceled." He's selling records. He's touring. That's about as far as you can get from "canceled." Now let's look at 2LiveCrew, as an example, since you brought it up. Do you know anything about what they had to do in order to have their music be heard, whatever it is you think about it? Because you are ridiculously stupid for even making that comparison. That was TRUE cancellation and the entirely illegal variety. |
Macon is the fourth largest city in Georgia with a population of 150,000 people. It’s around the same size as Syracuse and Dayton. |

Finally listened to the song.
Let's be honest. Small town America in this day and age is for losers that couldn't make it out. Meth-heads. Opiod junkies. Dead end jobs. Anyone that has any ambition or talent leaves that environment and never moves back. This song is an anthem for the forgotten small town people and what they wish they were. It's kind of sad actually. |

and they don't see that the MAGA folks are expediting their demise - with school vouchers, etc. People are so dumb. |

+1 150,000+ population is not a small town |
| I just suffered through his performance of this song at CMA Fest on Hulu. He’s a talentless d-bag. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a Keith Urban performance followed. He’s a real entertainer, super talented guitar player and seems happy to be there, uplifting and positive. |
Oh yeah that dope head what a role model
