DP. Macon is about the same size as Alexandria. I think it's silly to call that a small town. I grew up in a place about 1/5 the size of Macon and even that didn't feel like a small town. We had a Walmart and a Target.

I think the cancel culture is real and is very scary. From banning gas stoves to this, I think people just take to the extremes of what has been publicized and can't let it go. We're just all too nuts.

The location the video has been filmed is used as a prime location to many many other videos - that's why they used it. Now, maybe because he happens to be politically right wing, he is sending a message, who knows. But he is not the only artist who picked this spot to film so you have to be fair about this place being used - should we analyze all those times this location has been on film?

So I'm not a right wing supporter that he definitely is. He's MAGA loving, proTrump and he's everything I don't stand for but you know he can be a conservative and still make music. You may not like it but I think people outraged about this song should call out a zillion other things in this day and age that are if not the same and worse to be outraged about. The other side is that he knows full well this is a controversial song and it will make him more $ - that's just business savvy and people play into that so - again not his fault.

I don't like the guy but beating up on this song is a waste of time, energy and really anti free speech.

My problem is more with the a**holes who want to be outraged about what they pretend to believe about people who live in cities. That's the market for his garbage lyrics. Like we live in these urban hellscapes. Meanwhile, to pretend that small town living is better, they have to ignore the fact that the people with any ability are getting the hell out and going to the cities. They ignore the abandoned houses, the companies that could no longer function in their areas, the rampant drug use, the hostility to education, and the embrace of the most repressive kinds of religious beliefs. Instead of recognizing that their culture is played out, they lash out against others.

No, it's the realities of the cons of both rural and urban environments. Just facts.

Except that you didn’t mention a single con of cities. Urban dwellers get just as worked up about what they pretend is the truth about small towns (like that anyone with any ability is apparently clamoring to get out and go to a city). It’s equally as obnoxious and ignorant sounding. There are pros and cons to both. People like different things.

A city that’s the largest one around it for miles is not the same thing as a city that’s part of a massive metro area. Not PP, but I consider Macon a small town because I’m from somewhere much larger. Someone from one of the even smaller towns surrounding it might consider it “the city.”

LOL, he's not "canceled." He's selling records. He's touring. That's about as far as you can get from "canceled." Now let's look at 2LiveCrew, as an example, since you brought it up.
