Removing birth citizenship and going with citizenship like most sane developed 1st world countries have.

Not allowing undocumented children into schools

E-verify for all labor.

Extraordinarily high fines for people who rent to undocumented immigrants/require.proof of citizenship or legal stay to be able to rent

Require citizenship or legal residence proof for all utilities.

Remove the ability to obtain a driver's license without proof of legal residence or citizenship

Disallow all banking without proof of citizenship or legal residency

It's simple really. When you make it difficult to live in the country illegally, people will stop coming. Who is going to come to the US to live illegally if you can't drive, can't live anywhere, can't turn on the lights, cannot use banking when society keeps moving to cashless transactions, and you cannot send your kids to schools?

Make life impossible.

So why do you think Republicans have not done any of these when in power?

This may shock you, but I actually do agree with the Democratic talking point that greedy business owners who want to pay below fair wages for fair labor are a big part of the problem. YES, please require E-verify for all employers.

At the same time, however, Democrats have no leg to stand on when they do crap like give driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants, create sanctuary cities, kowtow to the needs of undocumented kids in schools and teach them in their language, and offer them healthcare. It just encourages lawlessness and people to keep on coming.

Life needs to be impossible/unlivable for all person who enter illegally. No one will come if life is impossible. All pols in Congress and at state and local levels are responsible for this fiasco. Implement the ideas on that list and watch illegal immigration plummet to zero. No one wants to move to the US of they can't legally rent an apartment and cannot turn on the electric.

I guarantee you'll be the first person throwing a fit when produce shelves are bare because no American is willing to pick vegetables in the hot sun for less than minimum wage.

I guarantee you'll be the first person throwing a fit when the meat section is bare because no American is willing to work in a slaughterhouse for what Smithfield pays.

I guarantee you'll be the first person throwing a fit when all your favorite restaurants have to shut down because no American is willing to wash dishes and bus tables for minimum wage.

I guarantee you'll be the first person throwing a fit when you can't get a pedicure anywhere because no American is willing to pick at your nasty feet for your paltry tips.

And I guarantee that if the market does adjust and employers start paying enough for Americans to do the jobs, you'll be the first person throwing a fit that lettuce/pork/restaurants/nail salons cost too much.

For better or for worse our economy runs on the backs of illegal immigrants.

You cannot claim to have all knowing knowledge of what will happen when we get rid of a black market undercutting everything.

Try traveling to Japan. They have nowhere near the quantity of illegal immigrants. Food prices, restaurants, and all other services are not at outrageous prices, in fact, Japan can be insanely cheap compared to the US, so Japan blows up your argument that everything requires illegal immigration and that illegal immigration keeps prices down.

Japan has government price controls. Do you want to add that to your list of impossible achievements along with “removing birth citizenship”?

Lmao..Japan does not have price controls on grocery store prices. Japan does not have price controls on what restaurants charge.

You made the claim that we need illegal immigrants to prices down. That's a dubious claim, seeing as many other industrialized countries in the world have far less illegal immigration than the US and yet their grocery stores do not have bare shelves and they still have affordable restaurants. How about New Zealand? How about Australia? How about South Korea? How about Canada?

The claim that we need illegal immigrants to keep prices low is dubious, given how many counter examples in the world with far lower illegal immigration blow up that narrative.

Japan? Japan's population is in decline.

As if that's a bad thing.

Without a growing population, there is no one to fill the void on the tax base, there is no one to take care of elders with failing health, there is no one to do all of the other laborous tasks a functioning society need. There is a reason the Japanese economy is failing.

And yet you're the same type to whine about affordable housing.

Rising populations strain the environment,.housing costs, schools, and healthcare system.

Millions of them work here, propping up hundreds of thousands of businesses. They work in meat packing, farming, construction, restaurants and many other sectors. They pay their bills. They live peacefully. WHY do we not want to just give them work visas? That would eliminate a huge amount of the problems at the border and in enforcement, it would eliminate massive backlogs of hearings, and would allow CBP to actually focus on securing the border and focus on going after just the ones who AREN'T living here peacefully, like the MS-13 and cartel members, and so on. Unemployment is at a historic low, we haven't seen since the 1960s, so it wouldn't harm American workers. Visas would be tied to demand, with American citizens given right of first refusal for any job filled by visa.

WHY do we not do any common sense things like this?

Temporary work visas are fine.

The point is that it is legal entry.

Why won't any Republicans support a work visa bill?

I didn’t bake any such claims. This is a popular thread with lots of different posters. The only claim I’m making is that there are structural things happening in Japan, like negative interest rates and government price controls, that are affecting their economy which are impossible to put in place here. Just as impossible as half of the fanciful “removing birth citizenship” list above. Please be realistic and people can have a reasonable discussion.

Or, it is treating human beings as human beings and giving people a chance at success. I mean, is it the kids fault their parents brought them? Should they be shit out of a minimum education because of it? Haven't we seen what happens when a society doesn't treat all of its members with healtcare (hint, we all get sick and pass germs and make each other sick or sicker) - do you just want humans dying in the streets?

If people know they cannot enroll their kids in US schools on top of. It being able to rent, turn on the lights, get internet, and cannot drive they won't bother coming. You won't have people on the streets if there are no incentives for coming.

It's common damn sense. Moral hazard.

A lot of these people are fleeing horrid conditions where they fear being chopped up by machete. You really over estimate the quality of life they are seeking.

So tell me, how exactly does one transverse through multiple countries if all they're worried about is getting chopped up by a.machete? They could travel to Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica,.or even stay in Mexico of all they fear is safety.

They come here because they want better economic opportunities, first and foremost. Show me where any sovereign country in the world is required to provide better economic opportunities to foreign nationals by law.

We all know how the game works - leave your country because you elected terrible leaders and the economy is min the toilet. Walk over multiple countries on your way to the US, then use flimsy claims of asylum to game the system in order to allow you to stay almost indefinitely.

What a farce. Who knew that when you claim asylum you can pick where you want to go like an ala carte line rather than being forced to stay in the country of first entry.

Biden isn't even doing that.
Allowing millions of migrants into our country is part of his plan.
We knew that from day 1 of his presidency when he rolled back all the actions that were working.

The modern GOP, rooting for a shrinking GDP.

I never thought I would see the day.

Get out of your bubble and look at the crisis abs say just how well Biden is doing!

Congress needs to fix it. Republicans and democrat reps share the blame here.

The Biden admin ran with the whipping Haitian immigrants narrative. No wonder no one wants to work Border Patrol when your own admin pillories you!

What about? What about? What about? What about?

Oh, look, we still have to follow the laws on the books. Only Congress can change the laws. It’s why we call them the legislative branch.

Biden isn't even doing that.
Allowing millions of migrants into our country is part of his plan.
We knew that from day 1 of his presidency when he rolled back all the actions that were working.

Yes, he is following the law. There is an asylum process. If the GOP doesn't like it, it can try to repeal it.

Removing birth citizenship and going with citizenship like most sane developed 1st world countries have.

I bet your butt is in the pew every Sunday morning, too. You pray to Jesus with that mouth?

Hell no, F religion. All of them.

The asylum process is clearly being gamed and used in ways not intended. It’s well past time for Congress to fix it.

There are a group of House members at the border as we speak. They are at the RGB sector and will get a first-hand account of what Biden's lack of border enforcement has caused.

And, then there is this, from the Yuma sector......
Note.... the seizure of fentanyl he is referencing is NOT at the border entries.
