Is Yale losing its luster?

No one knowledgeable has said that, and no one knowledgeable thinks that.

Some people though, are looking for a white environment— not a racially or even ethnically diverse one. And some people are thinking of a college degree, not as education, but as a straight shot ticket to wealth, and maybe even power. I wonder if such folks might be happier with Brigham Young? Or Dartmouth?

Emphasis on knowledgeable, as there seem to be some who would sell their kidney for a shot at Yale

So many unknowledgeable fools are getting admitted to these elite schools.

Yup.

There were a number of incidents back in 2014 or so suggesting it had become Wokeland.

It’s falling behind in STEM. I would not go there for an MBA, either.

It does not. I feel like Harvard, University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, and obviously Brown have all gained so much prestige over the last few decades that Yale doesn’t have the cash at once did.

Having said that, it still does have cachet. I would put it on par with University of Virginia.

HPSM still don't need any special programs to recruit their admits, so I'd say Yale pushed themselves out of the top grouping. Probably more akin to Columbia, Penn, Duke, Caltech now.

What special scholarships does Yale offer to top STEM admits?

Brigham Young? 81% white. Strong merit vibes from that place.

Well okay, feel how you feel, but nearly all the major rankings out there disagree with you.

But what about the world report cachet ranking? If you don't have cachet, you have nothing.

Ah, the UVA troll masquerading as a booster, who they will later denigrate. Probably the same troll who started the “UVA is better than Ivy” thread. Totally, designed to stir the pot.

Relax. UVA is a fine choice as is Yale.

UVA is UVA. Leave it alone. No one was talking about UVA and until you interjected the comparison.

UVA does not need any defenders on dcum. Nor do Harvard or yale or any of the fine schools on here that get trolled. It's all just silly entertainment.

Why is Yale's retention rate so low?
