| About 50% in my inside the Beltway Bethesda neighborhood, and 100% of those in McMansions in our neighborhood do private school. Pre-pandemic the numbers were lower. |
Probably from here: https://www.unitedstateszipcodes.org/22101/#schools |
I agree - that’s too bad! We are in Beverley Hills/North Ridge too and about 40-50% are in private schools, mostly Catholic schools. We are one of the private schools families but we certainly know our neighbors with similar age kids who go to public (George Mason), as the kids play together in the neighborhood or on the same soccer teams. |
| 22205 (Arlington) and I would say 15-20%. Our kids are in private (non-Catholic) schools. |
| Our immediate area in McLean is probably more than 50% private. |
Yes I know everyone on our block except one house that is a rental that turns over fairly often. Sometimes I know them but haven't had a chance to meet the new renters this time. Westover Arlington, on our block there are 16 kids, one is in Catholic school which started due to pandemic but was a good fit so staying for now. |

Most of the people I know who are well off in Bethesda do Private School. A few do Whitman, just a few. That's just my social circle.
At the country club it's about 85% at private school. |

I live in a nice neighborhood in North Potomac MD the other excellent schools but also extremely high household incomes and probably very high achieving families. I would say our neighborhood skews 85 percent private (Bullis, Jewish day school, st Andrews, Holton Arms, Landon, Sidwell, Marer) and 15 percent private between the one family that is in public elementary and the few in public middle and high school. Aside from taking much much swankier vacations and having nicer on site lunches, all of these kids will go on to achieve similar things in life.
Before the pandemic the neighborhood was 50-50 private and public. Issues with MCPS and other concerns obliterated that ratio. |
| My neighboorhood in Fairfax is 50/50. |
| I just did the math for our block in Van Ness DC, and it's exactly a 50/50 split (not counting kids who graduated or are too young). |
+1 |
| Capitol Hill. About 80% of kids are public. |
| Clarendon: about 20% all grades, but at the high school level just our block it's about 65% of homes. More and more families are going private. There has been a huge change since Covid. |
| On my street, all houses but one are private. The one goes to a magnet school. And, with the exception of siblings, every single kid on the street goes to a different private school! |
it’s definitely higher the closer you get to the bridge |
