No way that American women aren't interested in you unless you are an a-hole. There are plenty of short women in America. There is something about you that this isn't working for you.

One of my childhood friends is 5’5”, good job (though he never owned a home until he got married but he lived in nyc) and always had dates and several steady girlfriends in his 20s, they ranged in height from 5’0” to maybe 5’7”. He got married around age 30 to a nice, attractive woman who is maybe 5’2”

Yeah yeah sure we do okay in life just by having a good head on our shoulders. I personally got pretty jacked so that I could at least offer wide shoulders (control the things you can). What a lot of shorter realize is it's just easier when you're 6'2". Hell the height requirements on sperm bank donations tell you all you need to know. Look I was broke in college and the one near me only paid for 6ft...one of the hardest rejections of my life.

OP is too lazy even to drive to the nearest large city in the US for scheduled dates. Come on! I dated intercontinentally to my now exH. It's very expensive to date internationally, you have to take multiple trips, pay for women's visas, avia fare. Many girls would just play around and it won't result in anything serious. My ex was in investment banking, and he screened candidates for a wife on his business trips when single, with hotels and avia fare paid by his job. I cannot tell that a man who travels to date is a very stable choice for the family for any woman. He cheated on a business trip and was entangled in a long term workplace affair causing divorce after 16 years marriage. We were together for 18 years, and it wasn't me, that hot foreign wife, who broke the family.

I don't see OP being able to pull it off, it takes a totally different adventurous personality, very high income and sexual attractiveness

I know a few men who got wives in Asia or South America. They were various combinations of 5'5", hearing impaired, balding in their twenties, or recovering from a terrible divorce. If you are white or black, then you should find decent prospects locally. If you are South-Asian, East-Asian, or some other minority then you need to be aware how this affects your dating pool.

You will have better marriage prospects in some other countries. But you must spend significant time there, on extended vacations or job transfers. International marriage sites will just attract scammers.

Your dating value will increase over time. Meanwhile, spoof your cellphone location to downtown D.C. to see how this location affects your Tinder matches. Get boots or elevator shoes to add 2-3" and lie online. I disike Matchmakers, but you can easily afford It's Just Lunch and similar things.
