This?

Let me guess, he was banging his secretary and figured this would be cheaper than a divorce?

A new low for this forum. And that’s saying something. Congratulations, ladies.

He actually got cancer, nearly died, and we fought through it together. But interesting to see where your imagination goes.

I come here to see to crazy people are and I live in MA. Have you all ever wondered how many people posting are actually going to these schools or have kids there or live in the area?

Ie, the whole set of Van Cleef Alhambra jewelry, several Cartier or Tiffany bracelets (like 5 or so on each wrist). It’s all so OTT, and I don’t get it at all. I may wear one nice watch, or so, but even though I think I am well put together, these women make me feel like some sort of Cinderella covered in ashes. What is this style and do moms wear these items at your private?

I don’t know anyone who dresses like that and have had DC at several privates in DMV.

Or St. Patrick's

Yes.

I don't understand why people pretending to be wealthy on DCUM make comments like this.

"New" money implies that the person actually built or created something using to gain wealth.

"Old" money means that the person was born to wealthy parents and inherited wealth not based on their merits. Congrats on cosplaying being born rich. Weird hobby but you do you boo.

The cliched stereotypes about old clothes and cars are middle-class white protestant yankee values more than anything else.

They do not care, because they wear what they like. If you think they look demure? Same. If you think they look tasteful (or not)...same. They also aren't judging you either, because they're comfortable in their own skin, and clothes, and whatever else. Being secure in yourself is always in style.

I'm a mom with NO style, and I don't really care either. If you want to roll with your Cartier bracelets, I am totally okay with it as long as you don't judge me for my basic, thrifty apparel. After all, I couldn't afford private school tuition otherwise. In fact, I probably wouldn't recognize a Cartier bracelet if it hit me in the face. Please try not to be offended if I ask you whether you got it from Target.

+1
I had to Google everything mentioned on this thread, so I don’t know or care if other people have certain jewelry. Good for them if that’s what they enjoy!

I agree. People should wear what they are happy in. I've always preferred the low key Millionaire Next Door vibe. I prefer stealth wealth instead of flash. It's more freeing to me, but I do not care what others wear. I don't think I've cared since 1986 when I was in middle school.

Basic umc starter pack:
Golden goose sneakers
Goyard bag
Cartier love bracelets (multiple metals, diamond one for 10 year anniversary)
Stations necklace
Stupid GG belt
Expensive highlights

It's just the trends of the day, nothing to get your panties in a bunch about.

Haven’t heard of a few of these items. How do you know them?

I don’t know, PP. I lean towards “they don’t have kids in this area” but I am also here for the crazy.

Yep, basic. These show lack of style and imagination.

UMC? I agree it's basic as can be but it's a $100K+ investment.

Golden goose sneakers $500
Goyard bag $1200
Cartier love bracelets (multiple metals, diamond one for 10 year anniversary) $7K each plus $17K for the diamond one: let's say $38K for the stack of 4 that everyone wears
Stations necklace $35K to $65K
Stupid GG belt $500
Expensive highlights $500 x 4/year $2K

Golden Goose - definitely a few at River Schools, St. Pats and there is a group of women that are friends that all dress like this. The jewelry etc does not bother me but the flashy big hair and tons of makeup and seductive clothing at school events I do find bizarre but they are quite attractive so I give them that.

I think the Van Cleef Alhambra is very pretty. It has been around for a long time. I remember seeing it 10+ years ago and liked it then. I am surprised it is still being purchased. The Cartier love bracelets are kind of ugly. But a lot of Cartier jewelry is ugly. Every now and then they have some really pretty stuff.
