The chocolates were bought by the boyfriend's mom.
As a comparison for rate of consumption, the same size box was purchased for the obgyn's practice.

But there are tons of people who are poor yet they share what they have with guests and strangers even. Not being willing to share with your own family is what is odd here. Is scarcity mindset selective? Are there other factors that differentiate?

Chairs go by age and infirmity. I would never expect an older and more ill person to get up for me.


Agree. I always stand/greet a non-household guest. I always offer food/drink and a seat.
