Schools that are neither "woke" nor conservative?

Anyone who uses “woke” as a pejorative is hopelessly ignorant.

Most secular independent schools are off the charts for wokeness these days.

St Andrews is very woke. Many concerning incidents

You'll be fine. The overall student/parent body is liberal, but I've known moderate/conservative families who've been happy there.

And adding: Even if the school has a progressive culture, is that really so objectionable?

To some, yes, it is.

I don't read OP like that at all.

Mainstream Republicans will have views that you cannot voice without being cancelled at Maret or St Andrews--opposition to abortion, gay marriage, minors transitioning their sex etc. These are debatable views..just look at lawmakers debating the issues.

Why can't students debate and hold views that are similar to mainstream politicians?

Wait. You want us to urge our children that politicians are good role models? Oh, dear.

BTW, you're free to hold all these views, but in my opinion many people will be offended by some of them, especially gay marriage. To some people, saying you're opposed to marriage equality is like saying you're opposed to interracial marriage.

I disagree. Certainly not "woke" by DC-area standards. They value diversity and respect all. But it's a place where differing opinions can be voiced and respected. I'm a moderate Dem and my HS student there has shared lots over conversations he's had with his friends who are Republicans and Independents. They talk openly about different perspectives in ethics class, history class, literature class etc. I just hope to find a college that similarly supports true conversations-- that's how we learn best. My kid has moved more centrist during his time at SAES. So he's certainly not being indoctrinated by liberal thoughts.

You have a lot of money, right? That’s the important thing at Maret. You’ll be fine.
