Really? Let's see that proof I just know you have. We'll wait.

Alito, in a statement provided to CNN by the Supreme Court on Saturday, called the allegations concerning the dinner conversation "completely false."

"My wife and I became acquainted with the Wrights some years ago because of their strong support for the Supreme Court Historical Society, and since then, we have had a casual and purely social relationship. I never detected any effort on the part of the Wrights to obtain confidential information or to influence anything that I did in either an official or private capacity, and I would have strongly objected if they had done so," Alito said.

Wright vehemently denied Schenck's claims in an interview with CNN on Saturday.

"This whole thing is unbelievably misconstrued," she said, adding that Alito would never have discussed a specific case and she would never have asked about one.

"Cases are never discussed, everybody knows that," she said.

Wright confirmed to CNN the she and her husband had dined with the Alitos at their home and she remembered falling ill during the dinner and Alito offering to drive her home. It was the only time she had dined at the justice's home, but she said she has seen him occasionally over the years. She called any allegation that they had discussed the outcome of a case "patently not true."

Of course they are going to say they didn't do it.

But what evidence is there that he did? Just this guy’s … word? If there’s strong evidence that Alito did this, he should be kicked off the court, but this seems to be a rather baseless accusation, followed by a WILD speculation that if he did told friends about hobby he leaked the whole Dobbs decision (?!), by an attention-seeking preacher.

Read the story.

+1 Why do people think they can comment with any kind of authority on stories they don't bother to read?

It’s the Steve Bannon technique of flooding the zone with sh*t. If they can put enough sit out there, then people either assume it’s all sit or everyone discusses the sit. Republicans don’t ever read that which might enlighten them.

Except that everything you’re falling for is exactly what you describe - $hit with zero substance. Please do show us the ACTUAL proof that Alito leaked either one of these decisions. We’ll wait.

That’s what you say, “we’ll wait.” But the fact is that there is heavy circumstantial evidence that Alito has leaked in the past and you were all so gung ho for Roberts to do an investigation; why does none of you care that they haven’t revealed who the leaker was? Is it because you all vaguely understand that the leaker is, in fact, a dirty Republican?

You’ll wait. And if it’s revealed that Alito is a habitual leaker to sway Court decisions, you’ll just disappear like you always do.

I encourage a full investigation. I look forward to learning the outcome and watching you slither off into oblivion as you always do when you’ve been proven wrong. You know all about “gung ho” - you salivate rabidly at the mere suggestion of Republican wrongdoing, even without hard evidence. It’s a pattern you repeat again and again and I’m wondering when/if you’ll ever learn.

How much money did Ken Starr spend on the GOP’s crazy witch-hunt against the Clintons? Remind me, how much actually came of that. Oh - nothing. Then we suffered through several years of BeNgHaZi, then we suffered through several years more of butteremails. You nutjobs went off about Comet Ping Pong and you still really haven’t recovered from Q, in fact, it’s part of the DNA of your party now.

Kavanaugh probably did attempt to rape Christine Blasey Ford. You guys spiked that investigation.

Trump really did use the IRS as a political tool to harass those he felt had done him wrong. You don’t care.

Trump really did steal and perhaps sold above top secret documents and nary a peep.

Trump and his cronies really did stage a coup against the US and you support all of the involved when they run for office.

You haven’t got a leg to stand on. Your party is so far gone.

Precisely this. Too funny that LWNJs are taking the word of some preacher (of all people) as gospel because they’re so desperate for this story to be true. Imagine if this Schenck guy had a story that was damaging to Democrats. They’d be dismissing him with their usual disdain. How incredibly predictable our friends on the left are.

What’s really going on here: Leftists are pissed that the SC doesn’t rule the way they like so it’s illegitimate. They lost the house so now are onto something else to destroy

Alito is the Hobbs leaker. No question. He put it out there to undermine Roberts’ attempt to get one of the fascist justices to settle for upholding the 15 weeks limit without overturning Roe. He had the means and the motive and the passion to commit the crime. Republicans all said the leaker should be impeached, so do it.

Scalia, Alito, and Thomas took trips and gratuities from donors with matters and interests before the Court. Roberts knew.

What's going on is corruption in the GOP and the left is right to be mad.

Um, no - nothing shows that this is true. It's one person's word against another's. I'm inclined to believe the Supreme Court Justice, but YMMV.

Why. There is nothing to indicate Alito is a trustworthy person.

What elitism on your part.

I see it more this way: there have always been contained leaks to interested parties, but they're not reported upon because the parties concerned know better than to blab to the media.
This time there's this Schenke person, who is likely a little disturbed (no one would work as hard as he has for decades to ban abortion, only to change their mind), and he's building a case to target Alito for the Dobbs leak.
Fine. I certainly wouldn't put it past him to leak that.
But the reality is, he's not the first Justice to leak and he won't be the last. It's part of the SC process, all the Justices know it and they should have ways to pre-empt and cope.

What's really going on here: the double standards and denials and lying of the GOP. Every accusation is a confession. Whatever you say about the Left is what you are doing.

Then say leaks are just fine and dandy. Don’t say they are impeachable if it is a liberal but no big deal if it is a conservative, which the Republican position on everything. What we know is Schenke received leaked information about the Hobby Lobby decision that turned out to be true and he knew who the source was. The circumstances and motivation were similar for Hobbs so why not start by investigating the guy who has the motive and is likely to have leaked before?

The educated Republican voters’ explanations, justifications, and criticizing the pastor for leaking to the media - they sure are on a slippery slope of near zero friction!

We’re taking his word because he wrote a letter to CJ Roberts months ago with relevant information regarding the investigation that you were all going ho about. Why are you ignoring it?

Seriously? One random guy wrote a letter making this claim - so what? Where's his proof? One of the article mentions emails, but so far, I have seen no emails at all.
