Why did he leak it? |
|
Does Alito have any idea how bad he looks now? He disgusts me. Blech. |
I think he thinks he can talk his way out of this. They really are high on their own supply. |
I don't think the Supreme Court should be deciding cases based on the effects. Look at the law. If that leads to rulings like a quarter of Oklahoma is actually Indian territory, then so be it. |

I had a longer answer but the forums went down (for the format switch? Looks good, Jeff!).
It’s pretty clear that the leaker is Alito or one of his agents and it’s offensive that he thinks so little of Americans that he believes we won’t notice it was obviously a right winger (doesn’t stop him from insinuating otherwise!) It’s like my four year insisting he didn’t eat the piece of chocolate cake despite frosting smeared on his face and fingers. |
So not a snark but do want to know why do you think it’s obvious that Alito was the leaker in the Dobbs decision? |
Have you read any of this thread? |
Read the second post on this thread. |
It is a ridiculous theory. It was not surprising that following the leak the "conservative" Justices' homes were stalked and loons demonstrated for months. It is probably still occurring. They didn't expect a nutcase to fly across country with the intent of assassinating one of them, but it is not surprising that it happened. They knew this would be a reaction because the left protests ANY thing they don't like.... So, he leaks a draft so they could be subject to death threats and months of protests? Nope - this was someone on the left hoping that pressure would cause a change in the decision. That backfired. |
| It was an attack on democracy |
This was a regressive pressuring and locking in the forced birthers. They released their anti-democratic decision and he’s still whining. He actually has leaked in the past and you want to ignore that fact as if it’s irrelevant. |
Have a real investigation with the FBI and grand jury. Bring in the conservatives judges and put them under oath. Not that that would matter. The conservatives do not believe in the Constitution and would think nothing if lying under oath. Bet they would start talking about the  admiralty court.
|
I did do that but that’s in 2014. I suppose you could say he has loose lips and that he had a reason to (pressuring Judge Roberts to stop getting more judges on his side). Is that the totality of evidence? |
I’m the pp you are responding to. I personally think that Alito didn’t expect the kind of backlash and could see him want to influence a decision like this by leaking the information. I think he lives in a bubble and doesn’t understand why people don’t think like he does ( read the WSJ interview- he comes across as really clueless—just unbelievable). |
