Ovarian cancer? Bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue.

Did your GI test you for celiac disease? You really have all of the symptoms.

Also--look at the results yourself. If you are one digit off they will pronounce you "normal."

Have you had a colonoscopy? If you have a colonoscopy make sure they do a lot of biopsies looking for collagenous colitis/lymphocolitis (microscopic colitis)

You have some of the symptoms.

Finally got a visit with the GI.

I got a fecal tests and yet more blood tests (because bilirubin is high) as a precaution but GI said that with a clear CT scan, it's not likely to be anything and doesn't want to do a colonoscopy.

Gi put me on 1800mg of Advil per day meanwhile to deal with the pain at least. I'm grateful for that -- I haven't been sleeping in months but didn't want to take anything before talking to the GI.

Gi thinks it's just an inflammation because CT scan was clear and Advil will resolve it if it is that simple so after 2 months of pain, bloating, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and worrying, I should have just taken Advil. That's a lesson.

If Advil doesn't resolve it, GI is going to do a follow-up visit but said that I'm likely to end up with a colonoscopy.

This is total nonsense. Inflammation in the gut is not treated via Advil. The cause of the inflammation matters. You need a different GI and you need to be scoped.

Agree! I almost cannot believe what I read above! OP, please get a second opinion.

OP's 48? GI should be recommending a colonoscopy in any event.

Try Dr Loughney GI in NW DC. Georgetown Hospital and office on New Mexico Ave. Very caring, really listens, and tries to solve your problem. He was very helpful to a friend of mine with chronic issues and I’ve been a patient for years. Worth a try. So sorry you are in pain.

Yeah, rare GI doctor who gives a person high dose NSAIDS which can cause ulcers, etc. Get the scopes. Have you been scoped before? if not, definitely get it, you are past due.

Also, any excuse you have to get a hysterectomy including ovaries, jump at it. I have a family history of ovarian and was advised if it's ever a treatment option for something, grab it and ask for ovaries to be included. They are nothing but trouble for people with our fmaily history once done with childbearing.

My GI told me not to take advil at all!

for my mom, this was Chron's. The doctors she was recommended were Dr. Charabaty at Sibley and Capital Digestive Care. I hope you find out what's happening and feel better soon!

Which is also autoimmune. Why is OP not asking for an autoimmune blood panel

NP, I had similar symptoms at that age and changed my diet. After a fast, slowly added foods back in to find out what was bothering me. Switched to a cleaner diet and I cannot eat American wheat products, processed foods, sugar, and too much dairy without feeling sick now.

Right lower quadrant pain combined with the other symptoms makes me think Crohns too. Hopefully you’ll get some answers soon!

Multiple people have said Crohn’s throughout the thread. She will need a scope and a rheumatologist to diagnose but given everything that’s been ruled out I still think it’s that or IBS.

Forgive me if it’s been asked in the long thread but have you gotten a full autoimmune panel done for bloodwork? This much inflammation would likely show up on those panels and depending on other factors may point to autoimmune or auto inflammatory causes

OP here.

So I think there is inflammation -- that's why the bilirubin results are abnormal. At least that's what GI said.

Fecal blood test came back positive. Of course I was at work all day Friday and got the message after the GI closed.

Advil did help with the pain but it made me even more nauseous so I only took a few days and had to stop.

The pain is worse than ever. It's now been 3 months and no answers.

With positive fecal blood test, tho, GI wants to do the colonoscopy (according to message). I couldn't schedule it so I will do that Monday.

I'm hoping for some answers soon. It's going to feel like a long time until Monday with these test results.

Obviously IBS or Crohn's is the most likely. I'm scared it's something worse. I've been trying to stay calm but I didn't sleep at all last night. Any tips on waiting for final diagnosis and staying calm are welcome.

OP here. I did try a fast for 4 days about 2 months ago and it didn't help at all. I slept merry l better but the pain was still there.

Yes. Results were high but within "normal range." I asked and they did say that it's normal. Plus, I gave up all gluten for multiple weeks and it didn't improve. I've tried everything!
